The last real album (vinyl, that is) I bought was MAIN OFFENDER by someone called Keith Richards. That was back in 1992. Since then it's been only CDs, and I don't count them. They come and go.

Last year I picked-up CD’s by Weezer, Supergrass, Green Day, and The Hollies. I purchased these solely because they were cheaper than on iTunes. Since then, however, I’ve bought a new laptop that doesn’t possess a CD-drive. So, now, I no-longer own a CD-player at all. All my listening is fine via digital routes: iTunes and YouTube. I haven’t gotten around to Spotify yet, though. I still use my iPod Classics.

Vinyl for me, last thursday: Katrina And The Waves - Katrina And The Waves, Rod Stewart - Camouflage, David Johansen - In Style, Marianne Faithfull -Dangerous Acquainteaces - all second hand. Been looking for Ian Hunter and his Defiance too, for my first NEW vinyl for over 30 years, but with no luck. "We expect it to arrive from the supplier soon. Please be patient." It hurts. Really hurts. Day in, day out.

well it was Blue and Lonesome and I gave that to my then-girlfriend. I've gotten some CDs since then but didn't buy them myself. I got the Bridges to Bremen CD-DVD for my birthday, that one I would have probably bought

I purchased a group of Stones and Beatles bootlegs the other day. I’ve just finished slotting them in to my collection (in date order). I read an article for RSD that a lot of British students are buying CDs more as they’re cheaper than their vinyl counterparts (The music that is, not the students).

Yeah, vinyl is slitting it's own throat. There's no way the current prices are justified or further, the price gap between LPs and CDs.

Well, I've never taken seriously the talk of 'vinyl's coming back'. One cannot turn back time. Of course, that kind of nostalgy costs money.

Bastards is a great album.

Definitely, at least 5 excellent songs on it. I had it as mp3 from a friend, but somehow either deleted it or lost it, so found it used & very cheap! ... $4 for the cd.

Today I picked up a second hand CD.

Canned Heat & John Lee Hooker - Hooker and Heat - 2 cd.

I believe it was a Double gatefold Vinyl release in 1970. The Double CD I have was released in 1991.

Funny though, let me be a bit controversial, the idea of 'buying stuff' starts to belong to yesteryear. Once there was a point to build one's bibliotetica to get the hear the stuff one wants to hear. Not any longer. I once collected all those rare albums to hear some blues songs by legendaric artists, but now all that stuff is one click away. And more if I please: things I never thought I could be ever to hear.

I never thought 'buying stuff' means more than having access to the material in hand. Now one does need not that. It's all about music and listening that. Good. No need to 'own' anything. Finally. Music is not a materialistic thing.
