It's Hot Stuff.

Hot Stuff "lead the way" for Miss You and Emotional Rescue. It was then abandoned, although Start Me Up had the same beat, as did Too Much Blood, but by then it was over.

Fingerprint File & Hot Stuff

Heartbreaker had elements of disco. Not a disco tune, though. Neither is Hot Stuff, which is plain funk to me.

None of them are really disco songs, some of them can be called disco inspiration at best.

The «doo, doo, doo»-stuff and the clavinet make it at least sound like a precursor to disco, imo smiling smiley

Unreleased, but a Disco tune from 1975 (Rotterdam Rehearsals) is Shame Shame Shame (by Sylvia Robinson)

Yes Heartbreaker would be their first attempt in that "category"...as well as the instrumental coda of "100 Years Ago" and the last (latest ?) one "Rain Fall Down" ?

I thought the first disco song wasn’t until 1974 with Rock the Boat. And the coda on 100 years Ago is not disco, maybe funk influenced. The phrase disco wasn’t even coined in 1972 when 100 Years was recorded. 1975 was really the year when disco became popular

It depends how you define disco -but if a definition is that it requires a 4-to-the-floor kick drum beat Hot Stuff is funk, and Miss You the first real disco Stones song.

Call me old-fashioned, but...to me, any music that could be played in a disco (or dance club) to which people would dance is 'disco' music...

Here is my own party mix of Stones tracks that always gets the crowd worked up and crazed during a rave-up or dance party. The kids love it....

The Rolling Stones-More Dance Numbers
Hot Stuff
Everything Is Turning To Gold
Emotional Rescue
Dance (Part 1)
Dance (Instrumental)
If I Was A Dancer (Dance Part 2)
Pretty Beat Up
Slave
Fingerprint File
Miss You (original 12 inch version)

Sex Drive
Suck On The Jugular
Rain Fall Down
Back To Zero
Too Much Blood
Rock And A Hard Place
Anybody Seen My Baby

could also been in your list, Beercan.

But what you're describing is dance music, not necessarily disco, which is a musical genre.

A very good, dancable list just the same smiling smiley

just because you can dance well to a piece of music doesn't mean it's disco

the above mentioned tracks are not disco tracks, in fact most of them are not even disco inspired tracks

The Rolling Stones were much more inspired by reggae, latin, samba, calypso, caribbean, funk etc.

Disco is inspired by all those styles. The main difference is the four to the floor, and for many tracks the walking octave bass.

I think the Stones only made one and a halve real disco track -Miss You and Emotional Rescue, the latter being much more Philly funk to me. And I think the same about tracks like Everything is Turning to Gold, Dance, Pretty Beat Up -these are all much more funk than disco.

Jagger himself has commented that their style of funk was much inspired by Charlie Watts going to the clubs and picking up the Philly funk style of drumming, a style he also applied to rock songs like Hang Fire, She Sold Cold and Start Me Up.
