Having read much about the fans in the tongue for the RS halftime show from the participants, I can attest that it wasn't the model types picked for the very front in Shine a Light. They did have an upper age limit at first, maybe of 45 (not sure) and then even rescinded that for people who could run fast enough and carry the tongue, as I recall.

Dan, yes, GlimmerGirl24 and others wrote much about it as it was planned and happening, mostly on Shidoobee as well as elsewhere.

The Flaming Lips would have put on a better show than Rihanna's bomb last night.

I'd pay good money to see the Lips do "Mother I've Taken LSD" at the Super Bowl. >grinning smiley<

Prince WAS the best. He really nailed it.
The Stones well… it was cool they did a new song to promote the album, but the sound was a bit off. High energy sure, cool stage, good playing… the sound marred it. Come to think of it, didn’t we have a guy on here who knew something about it. As I recall it was something with the soundcheck and an engineer not saving the settings or something. The Stones went in there “blind”. Someone correct me.

Springsteen was cool too.

Tom Petty was good, too. Miss him hugely!
I’m a Springsteen AND Stones fan…. Tom Petty would be my number one

Well I would put Michael Jackson way higher, before MJ in 1993, the SuperBowl halftime show consisted of marching bands and Up With People. He set the standard for the high profile act!

Yeah, we are big college football fans and the big time college bands and football are a perfect mix. We are Wisconsin Badgers folks and are blessed to have one of the best bands in the USA in my opinion.

NFL needs to ditch slutty cheerleaders and silly SB fluffery. But, it is about the money not the football so it will only get worse.
