I just purchased a single CD called "Out on Bail - 1978 US Tour" in a cardborad digipack. Recorded at the mid-south Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee on 28 June 1978. Tracks 7,8,9 were recorded at the Capitol Theatre, Passaic, New Jersey on 14 June 1978.
Is the source and track listing the same as the vinyl boot on Lurch or Tongue Records?
1. Let it Rock 2. Honky Tonk Women 3. Miss You 4. Respectable 5. Just My Imagination 6. Shattered 7. Faraway Eyes 8. Sweet Little Sixteen 9. Lies 10. Love in Vain 11. Tumbling Dice 12. When the Whip Comes Down 13. Brown Sugar 14. Beast of Burden 15. Hound Dog 16. Jumping Jack Flash
Here's the "Out On Bail" vinyl tracklisting from Passaic...The only song on your CD that appeared from the Passaic gig is Far Away Eyes...you have two extras from that show I guess.
Side 1
Let It Rock All Down The Line When The Whip Comes Down Just My Imagination Beast Of Burden
Side 2
Respectable Far Away Eyes Love In Vain Happy Jumpin' Jack Flash
i knew there was a cool quote from that boot so i had a listen , Jagger quote b4 whip comes down ,Keith says i could play this if i play it quietly , so i will
I have the same digipack. It's a compilation of tunes from different venues on the '78 tour, despite what the digipack says. The official "Out on Bail" show is from the Capitol Theater in Passaic.
Nevertheless, who cares where the tunes were recorded? Your Out on Bail digipack kicks ass. Check out the jams on Tumbling Dice and Whip. Simply awesome.

I don't think so. I bought the original, which came out within a week of the show, and it was a single vinyl album with a b/w cover including a photo/ title and the Pecman track listing. Word was a second disc was to follow, but I myself never heard those trax until the cd was released years later.
I've heard there is a complete version without the sound drops. Does anybody know anything about this?
"Garden State '78" IS a good boot from that tour, but THE definitive live document is "Handsome Girls". It is a must-have.
We've periodically talked about the short '78 tour, which, by all accounts, was maddeningly inconsistent in performance levels. This makes it all the more fascinating, because the most outstanding performances, by lucky accident, WERE captured in soundboard quality.
Other than 1973 and the current tour, the '78 Stones were in a definitely stripped-down and punky state of mind, and many songs from the then-current "Some Girls" were featured in the set. This gave the whole tour a level of danger that disappeared eleven years later, when the whole "Las Vegas Act" began to assert itself.
The 1978 tour is one of my favorites, because of the raw rock n roll sound and the outstanding playing by both Ronnie and Keith. The weakest link at this point was Mick J himself, because his vocals were more shouted than sung and he was close to being a parody of himself. The star of the tour was definitely the band, kicking on all four cylinders with a ferocity I have never heard since.
My original vinyl single disc boot of the show, titled Out On Bail, was released on "Tongue Records (T 100 A) a week or so after the show and had 11 trax:
Side A:
Let It Rock All Down the Line Whip Comes Down Imagination Beast of Burden Sweet Little Sixteen
I have a boot from '78 called "Some Girls are Bigger Than Others" which states on the insert that it is from Memphis. On the intro to Hound Dog, Mick makes a referrence to being in Memphis, hence the Elvis tune. Isn't this from a live radio broadcast (King Bisquit Flower Hour, maybe?)
Anyway, of all my boots, this is my fav. The guitars simply sizzle, especially on Just My Imagination, Tumbling Dice, Beast of Burden, and Jumping Jack Flash.
