1. The bluesy greatness of Fancy Man blues. 2. Tumbling Dice 3. The hand clapping then the expolsion about 45 seconds into Tumbling Dice...I mean does that not give you chills...Especially after a couple shows this tour Tumbling Dice has been my fav. That transition in to the rocking guitar is just freaking perfect! 4. Beast of Burden always wanted that version on CD 5. Wish I'd Never Met You----Just like it.

I hate songs that are stuck together - warm up singing and a concert track - not my cup of tea.

Through The Lonely Night....Holy Hell!!...haven't played the 7" for couple of decades...didn't sound like how I remembered it...more like a long lost child who's voice I didn't recognize...beautiful stuff though..
"Let It Rock" justifies the price of the purchase for me, but...
When Jagger blows holy hell through that harp on "Fancy Man?" Right as he's finishing the solo that he knows that he has just smoked and burned, he lets out a "yeah!" through the harp into the distorted mic setup.
Never fails to take my breath away. A perfect Rolling Stones moment, in my mind.
I've been wondering for sixteen years (!) why they didn't include that track on "Steel Wheels." I'm so glad that it's out there for more casual (that is to say, sane) fans to enjoy.
tumbling dice guys! it is simply great, a gospel tune at the start, and then a great rocker one, with a transition so strong that i almost died! Mick sings simply great. They got soul!
A good enough listen if not dissapointing if one considers what could have been done. Still, quite enjoyable if just listened to as is, no questions asked.
Screw Starbucks tho! A lot of their discs usually seem to show up mint "used" in the indie stores for real cheap. Support them instead!
Although I haven't picked it up yet, I know pretty much all these songs already. I like the 7 minute version of "Miss You". So what if it's not the version on my pink wax UK pressing. I heard this version on the radion and I got an 8-track vibe from it and I dug it, man. I love the mix! I felt transported to 1978 while I was listening to it. A great year for me because this was the year I first got into the Stones. I am to this day a "Some Girls" fantatic.

Bought it yestarday in a simple store in belgium. Haven't bought the ABB deluxe though
The rarities-album and the special edition are already a week available in Holland. I bought the rain fall down maxi-single yesterday!!!
By the way I agree on the topic that the new rarities-album doesn't contribute to many of our collections, but it is quitte nice to have all this beautiful songs on a cd, just perfect for listening in your car. The one song I missed is "Think I'm going mad"
I won't buy it. Where is: Think I'm Going Mad, Cook Cook Blues, Jump on Top of Me, The Storm, I'm Gonna Drive, So Young? Where is Let's Spend, Beast of Burden and the electric Wild Horses from the Stripped Sessions? Where's the live Gimme Shelter, Black Limousine and All Down the Line from Paradiso and Brixton? I won't even go into the outtakes they could have considered for release...
Mathijs, they only released one cd, so they had to make a choice in what songs where good enough to put on the cd, impossible to put all this music in a new release.
You're absolutely right, let us not forget that this cd was put out for "normal stonesfans, not for the die-hard fans. It's a chance for normal fans to listen to other nice songs and versions of songs.

oh,really? was there something about "for normal fans only" in the press release? I must have missed that.
> > oh,really? was there something about "for normal > fans only" in the press release? I must have > missed that.
easy to have missed it stonestod, it was buried in the press release for the NS live cd, encrypted in invisible ink which stated quite plainly that the next 5 cds would be for 'normal' fans only.
since then we've gotten: 1. NS live w/o all the gems from the NS tour (YGTS, SG, etc) 2. 40 licks, with shortened versions of some of the classics and the 4 new diluters of the legacy taking the spots of 4 more deserving tunes 3. Live Licks w/o adequate theatre show song representation, a simple rehash of FF 4. ABB w/o UTR and weakly sequenced 5. Rarities w/ mostly non-rare songs.
hopefully that's the last of the releases for 'normal' fans, and all the rest of their new studio cds, rarities and live releases will cater to the rest of us, the 'abnormal' stonesfans, the nonfans, and the world at large, to prove to the doubters and the 'normal' fans that this is indeed the greatest band ever.
