Doesn't just have to be Stones. Here's mine in no particular order:

Between The Buttons - Stones
Highway To Hell - AC/DC
Aladdin Sane - David Bowie
Wildflowers - Tom Petty
Ghost In The Machine - The Police
Rock In A Hard Place - Aerosmith
Dynasty - Kiss
Ziggy Stardust:The Motion Picture - David Bowie
Aftermath - Stones
Duran Duran - Duran Duran

That's my list for now although I'm sure there's lots I'm forgetting. So, what are yours? smiling smiley

Hm, interesting Bowie choices... These are considered classics by many, many people.

Anyway, can't think of ten at the moment, but how about:

Marguee Moon - Television
Black Tie, White Noise - David Bowie
Songs From the West Coast - Elton John
Rock and Roll Music to the World - Ten Years After
News of the World - Queen

Rockman, I've been looking for that

Nothing but the wheel track for ages now, do you have that?

Any thoughts?

highway to hell is not underrated - five star rating

How about the great Robert Nighthawk blues guitarist from Chicago? Man, I just love his live record from the late 60s. It's up there with Johnny Young's stuff with Otis Spann. These are definitely very underrated recordings for sure. Gritty aluminum saw harp and buzz distorted guitar. Some just excellent guitar work that is spare and well punctuated. Finally, less is more.

I agree with you stonedmike that it should get a 5 star rating but I've always felt that Highway was always in Back In Black's shadow. A lot of people and critics have said that Back In Black is AC/DC's best album. I disagree. Highway To Hell is, at least to me. smiling smiley

Hanoi Rocks is one of the most o-v-e-r-rated & hyped groups ever imho.

Nuggets is four discs (no 2, or the fist cd box set)

MY picks for today (exclusively fetched out off the rock world):

Rockamöllan Tron Om Varann (no, you wont find it on Limewire!) 1977 (reggae)
John Holm Sordin 1972
Thin Lizzy Nightlife (foundation for the hiphop- and rap scene) 1974
the Rolling Stones Satanic Satanic Majesties 1967
the Rolling Stones-Now! 1964
the Rolling Stones 1964
Kim Larsen & Yankeedrengerne (some Chuckstertunes & own material, from 77)
Ebba Gröns first 1979
KMSB´s first 1980
Nuggets 1965-68, first edited 1978

(the two latter, see samples at a thread with name punk rock in a few days ago)

Soldier - Iggy Pop (I'm a conservative, Play it safe)
Between the Buttons - The Beatles
Beatles for sale - David Bowie
Hanoi Rocks - anything
Tuomari Nurmios 1979 LP
Vilse i Pannkakan, the music, the songs.

Ebba Grön? They are overrated

"Low" (Bowie) and "John Wesley Harding" aint underrated, top score everywhere. "Low" was even listen as the best album of the 70s in a big music-magazine, was it MOJO?

A while ago I got myself this crappy album by Little Steven:
Men without women.
I used to have it in the 80s. Now I have it on CD. Musically speaking it's
probably not revolutionary. But it's rather nice, actually.
Another one in that category: the second Grand Funk Railroad.
All not revolutionary, not dynamic, but good company when drinking a beer.

Warren Zevon - My Ride's Here (2002)
Hindu Love Gods - Hindu Love Gods (1990) (Zevon on vocals and REM minus Stipe jamming on a bunch of old blues tunes. Sounds nothing like REM)
The Replacements - Pleased To Meet Me (1987)
Paul Westerberg - Mono (2002)
Liz Phair - Exile In Guyville (1993)
Matthew Sweet - Altered Beast (1993)
The Pixies - Trompe Le Monde (1991)
The White Stripes - De Stijl (2000)
The Rolling Stones - Dirty Work (1986) (Can't understand why so many hate this one. Check out those guitars in One Hit and Dirty Work!)
The Rolling Stones - A Bigger Bang (lots of well-deserved critical acclaim, but relatively poor sales compared to other Stones albums)

Bob Dylan - Slow Train Coming
Otis Redding - Live in Europe
Ten Years After - Live at the Fillmore East

The album mentioned all seem to all have done pretty well. Shouldn't underrated ones be albums that didn't get their's?
"EventuallY" - Westerberg
"Zaireeka" - Flaming Lips
"Zoot Allures" - Zappa
"These Foolish Things" - Bryan Ferry
"Foxtrot" - Genesis
"Human Menagerie" - Cockney Rebel
"Dirty Mind" - Prince
"Triple XXX" - Jane's Addiction
"Star Time" ' - James Brown
"World Without Tears" - Lucinda Williams

Seeing Hanoi Rocks here I'll be more specific and mention their first album, Bangkok Shocks. Just as it's shown on the record shop wall in "Hi Fidelity", along with two other great debuts - Never Mind The Bollocks and Damned, Damned, Damned - this one deserves to be lifted from obscurity. If rock and roll is a youthful feeling, there's seldom been better manifestations than Hanoi Rocks when they were fresh.
The Black Crowes' Amorica is criminally neglected. To me it's the greatest album of the 90's. Trendy? No. Retro? Perhaps. Ageless? Yes!
Sound Of Lies. Again IMO, the 2nd best 90's album. Gary Louris isn't the Jayhawks, but he could make it work very well without Mark Olson.

7. Almost Famous - The Respatexans
8. In The Land Of Salvation And Sin - Georgia Satellites (with Mac!)
