Listening to the Forty Licks version of Beast To Burden I noticed they cut out Ronnie's kick-ass solo which is on Some Girls. What's that all about? Did they do it on other songs?

'Miss You' was also cut.

Why? Was 20 songs too much for the CD?

Yes all the old tracks on the second CD were circumcised.
They cut the dick off.

What a shame...

Just burn the new songs on a CDR, with a boot or so.
Then you're fine.

It would be good if edited tracks were identified on the cover.

I received 40 Licks as a present and was disgusted at all the edits.

When somebody asked for a copy I ended up burning the original tracks so that I was able to give them the full versions.

Is there a list somewhere on the web, from which you can see which songs were cut on Forty Licks 2nd half and what's missing? If not, can we maybe collect the data here, please? Thanks.

"single edit," "promo edit" - Does that mean the edits were not done strictly for Forty Licks? They just used edited versions that were done for radio when the songs were released?
