Does anyone remember that scene in the Being Mick documentary where Mick and Keith are in a room looking at old tapes? It seems like you sorta could make out some of the titles but idk I haven't seen that clip since it aired on ABC 20 years ago. I wonder if you paused it, if you could see some of the titles. I'd love to see what we've got from that so far and what's possibly left.

I am sure that when this was aired in the UK, there was brief footage of (at least) Keith and Ronnie leaving the Mayfair office after a Rolling Stones meeting. The American DVD version I have doesn't have this scene. Does anybody else remember this, and know why it might have been edited out?

For Keith running through the boxes, it's, I think, from some version
of Gimme Shelter movie, can't find now, but I remember that he's reading
titles from the pile of tape boxes and mentions Sister Morphine, with a
grin on his face (like "wow, this is a good one"). Also, if I remember correctly, the footage comes from Feb. 1970 mixing of "Get Yer" (that famous
mixing of Little Queenie, when Maysles crew covers one of the speakers during
the song, and Keith went mad)

I thought the same thing when I saw the notes for Slave. The working title was even mentioned (as well as Melody) in a 1975 RollingStone article written during the '75 American Tour:

"...Mick Jagger and keyboard journeyman Billy Preston were off in a corner listening to tapes of rough cuts recorded by the Stones in Munich earlier this year for fall release.

This cut,” said Wyman, “is Mick and Billy singing lead. It’s very jazzy. The working title for this one is ‘Vagina.’ Why? Someone called it ‘C*nt’ in the studio and we couldn’t write that.” Wyman, long identified as the “silent Stone” (“Only because no one ever asks me anything”), identified the next song as “Melody.” “It’s a very nice song,” he said."

Good catch, but it doesn't sound like the version that got leaked, faster and with the vocal less buried behind instruments.
