theres only a soundboard of about 30 minutes of one of the shows in general circulation (which I presume is what you have), and even then theres a couple of cuts
Assuming the soundboard all comes from one show, I think its from the 5th March show myself. Theres an unedited version of the same version of "Little red rooster" on LYL - which on the official release is preceded by band intros which are definitely from the 5th March (because Mick addresses someone as "the bottom pincher from last night")
The Mocambo shows look similar to today's club setlists. It's like Jagger has a very definite idea of what tunes he thinks work well in club settings. Nothing beats the atmosphere of that Side 3 on LYL. I rememeber when LYL came out and Keith was indanger of going to prison; the Stones were on the verge of being no more. Then that Club side came out on the Live album. There was such a tangible , close-up immediate feel to that music. I felt like I was right there in the club with Maggie Trudeau. In NYC we were wondering seriously if this clubgig would be the last time we ehard Keith live. Then "Run Rudolph" came out around Xmas, then Keith breezed into town and jumped on stage at the Bottom Line with Dave Edmunds, then Miss You hit the street. My memories begin with the summer of Some Girls. before that it was just pizza and a blur...
Eventually some lost recordings may surface, but the aforementioned 30 minutes is about all that is "known" to be in circulation. Surely the entire shows exist somewhere. I doubt the Stones would go through the trouble of only having that tape/side 3 of "Love You Live" recorded. Barring the tapes being destroyed (or somehow technical trouble makes them unlistenable),there must be more.
Karnbach presented both shows to a German collector. so there are at least 2 "normal" human beings with the recordings in their collection. I'm hoping for almost 20 years now (when I learned that story) that they may show up on a boot by surprise someday. there's still hope but NO sign that it might happen...
