I would suggest Mick and/or Keith give an interview or two to generate some publicity, which would lead to higher ticket sales.

I do not delete anything here unless it is stalking private individuals, completely off topic, like discussing bass players, set list etc, as I mentioned yesterday in an earlier post here. Also, calling me or others by names is not very smart. I spent two hours cleaning out offending and completely off-topic posts here yesterday night.
The band is working hard every day rehearsing, of course. There is no ghost band, it's the real Rolling Stones. No worries, this will be a great tour, and in seventeen - 17 - days, they will be on stage in St Louis.

There were the Brian Jones years up to 1969, then we had the Mick Taylor years up to 1974 or so, then we lost Bill Wyman with the band after 1990. Still they have been performing live, and recording new songs for 30 years, and performing to millions.
I don't want to start another Charlie Watts discussion here, I just want people to give Steve Jordan a chance. The band want to go on tour, and I know Steve Jordan will do a great job on their songs. In St Louis it will me magic when they hit the stage, even if we will miss Charlie deeply.

They do actually drive into the studio.. THey have a garage so trucks with equipment can go in out. And by that I mean the studio they are at do mostly movie stuff.. But Mick has been arriving Mercedes right into studio garage area.
Just like when they rehearsed in the movie studios in Oslo before the tour opener in 2014.

I'm not convinced that the band is experiencing any joy at this time...I think the promoters and insurance companies have them in a very nasty position right now...to think Mick, Keith & Ronnie are really looking forward to this tour is unimaginable...it is something they are forced to do or perhaps lose future tour insurance...I don't know if any of this is true but I'm thinking strictly from the personal angle. If I just lost a " brother" I've had for 60 years, joy would NOT be something I'd be feeling...it's a good thing the band is guaranteed $5 million because I expect to see a lot of empty seats, not only because of Charlie's passing but because many sensible fans are not taking the risk of exposing themselves to a very transmissible Covid strain. I'm holding my breathe until this tour is over and praying that the band does not get Covid.

Dcarey, I always wondered why they rehearse 75-100 songs and yet play the very same songs each show....they're down to 21 songs now and about 2 hours & 15 minutes, varying one song on the B-stage and maybe one from the main set list..once in awhile Keith will change one from his 2-song mini-set...I understand the need to play warhorses for the folks who are seeing them for the first time BUT with a catalog as huge as theirs, the OLDER fans would appreciate at least 2 or 3 gems per show....not too much to ask. And yes, Topi, it is widely know that the insurance company is demanding they do these shows as " make-ups" from the cancelled 2020 shows.

The set list is driven by The Chuckster. 'nuff said.

Chuck Leavell has SOME input regarding the set list but don't lay all the blame at his feet..he is a very talented, versatile musician and would have no problem playing deeper cuts...I actually write to Chuck from time to time as I did to express my condolences to him and the band with the passing of Charlie...Mick, Keith & Ronnie have input on the songs that go on the set list each night. It's a matter of satisfying what they imagine fans, other than us hard-core guys, need to hear...they sadly play to the new-comers...I'll ask Chuck about this..he always answers my emails. I don't understand why he gets so much flak, he's truly a great guy.

Not to sound disrespectful, by how much time is needed for them to rehearse the same 18 or so songs that has been their live set-list for what seems like the past two decades of touring ?
