I like the Hyde Park '69 version the best - released on "The Swingin' Pig"-label and on MANY other bootlegs.

Aragon 2002 is good. A messy, but rocking version is on Vancouver 72. Also, the version from Globen (Stockholm) 2003 is good, but it's only fair audience quality.

the Licks versions are generally very good, but nothing tops the version on Exile

Vancouver, 03-06-1972 is very good, a bit fragile tho.

Great song, no doubt. But IMO has never worked live. Granted, they haven't tried too hard either.
But like eg Shattered, or Rocks Off, there just are sometunes that do not translate well on to the Livestage. The best solution IMO is when the Stones see this and adapt. Like they did with SFTD. Right from the start in 69 the live version emphasized different aspects of the groove.

Do not agree at all...LC is a superb live song which has been playd almost perfect during LICKS tour IMO.
One of the highlights.

I still can not believe it never has been released from the licks tour. Otherwise probably Hyde Park is the best.

Me, I'd prefer the studio version, it's simply outta space imho! One of the best ballads ever in R'n'R history!!!

I agree with the comment that they never really worked on it enuff on the Licks tour. Best version I've seen/heard might be the Oakland one. Always been among my fave alltimers....

Heard it once on Licks Tour and almost fell over it was so GREAT! I always felt it was an over-looked gem and it has been one of my favorite EXILE tracks. Can't imagine it being extremely difficult to play live so maybe the boys will dust it off for the second half of this tour! There are a couple alternate studio outtake versions.One of them is much longer than the album version.Jagger slurs his vocals during the outro as if he were drunk.It might be from the Let It Bleed sessions.
