Am I delusional to think, if some DVDs are OK that maybe some CDs are OK? I suppose I am delusional. But I was really looking forward to buying this new CD edition, just as another small ray of happiness in dark times. But maybe I'm setting myself up for frustration.

If you don't already have it, you could buy the Deluxe Talk is Cheap at a nice discount as there's currently another price drop now back down to just $72->Cheap Keith.
Bought it back in June at just $41, but even at $72 seems a bargain as the list price is $174.00. Maybe it will drop even further, and if it gets back down to near $41 I'm going to grab another.
As for this Hollywood Palladium Deluxe, originally the strategy was to hold out for a massive sale, but with all the screw ups (warped vinyl, dvd doesn't play, etc.) not sure it's worth the gamble at even a 75% discount.

I caved in (as usual) and got the Deluxe box set. Sounds good (the snare is too high in the mix for my liking, though).
Haven't tried the dvd yet...

Nine to ten that it cannot be played.

Strange times indeed.
According to USPS tracking, my poster was in Helsinki already on November 26, but now seems to have departed Tokyo Haneda again yesterday (the third time now that it has "left Haneda" and supposedly be on its way to the destination)

UrbanSteel: have you tried the "menu" button to solve the DVD problem?

The menu does not continue after the first six tracks.
The DVD is not playable, not on my PC, not on my external Blu-ray player and not on my Home system.
The good old DVD Decrypter fixed for the moment the problem, he allowed a good rip and i did burn the dvd with AShampoo Burning Studio 16.
Strangely enoiugh my DVD was playing on my external Blu-ray again after an extremely slow DVD rip via DVD Decrypter. On my regular DVD-player it does not start up and on my Home system it does not continue in the menu as Time Is On My side.
The ripped DVDr (clone) plays perfectly on all three of my devices.
