Little Richard, Founding Father of Rock Who Broke Musical Barriers, Dead at 87 (RollingStone.com)
Pianist-singer behind “Tutti Frutti,” “Good Golly Miss Molly” and “Long Tall Sally” set the template that a generation of musicians would follow.
Very sad day in Saint Louis. I could tell my mother was holding back tears when I called and told her this morning.
A Flamboyant, Outspoken, Musician extraordinaire and civil rights champion are the best ways to describe Mr. Penniman. Always treated us like family, loved my father dearly and will always have a special place in all the Berry families hearts.
Rest well and say hello to my father Mr. Penniman.

One of my favorite concert memories was seeing your father perform with Little Richard on New Year's Eve in a casino in Atlantic City in 2000. They both played well and although they didn't perform together I could feel there was a bond between them (which you just confirmed). Thank you for sharing your story.

Oh gosh - yet more sad news. Little Richard will forever remain an absolute legend.
I saw him but once 15 years ago. He was already verging on the frail but put on a magnificent and memorable performance. He was signing things afterwards so I had the chance to meet him fleetingly. He left a good impression on me as someone who was gentlemanly, humble and good-natured, which, to be honest, I hadn't been expecting. RIP, Little Richard, and thanks for the music.
Mick has paid a heartfelt tribute to him on Twitter.
