Bloody sad news lucky to have met him last year in New Zealand

I never catched him live, but his 2010 album in person & on stage is simply fabulous.

Painful. I thought he was pulling through.

I was really hoping Mr. Prine would hang in there. I'm at a loss for words. His music has meant as much to me over the years as anybody's. Love you, John.

Been a devotee since 73. Had been harbouring a hope he'd pull through. Saw him many times live - always a pleasure and a life-affirming experience. Sitting with tickets for a twice rescheduled show in Edinburgh. Will raise a glass to John tonight and, later, on the night of the rescheduled show.

Had tickets to see him last year, but he postponed until February.
He postponed again. New date was in August.
It wasn’t meant to be.

Thank you John Prine. I feel like I know you from your down to earth good natured songwriting style.And youre such a lucky duck to have recorded with all those fabulous women including Fiona.Sad as Im feeling I still smile listening to your music.God Bless You...

Discovered John Prine many years ago watching the Sessions at West 54th. Becomes his fan since then.

What a sad sad loss, god bless his soul.

Used to sing his songs to my children. I will miss him.

To be honest, I'm not familiar with his music. I saw him open for Bonnie Raitt in the early 90s. Don't remember a lot. It doesn't matter. I see how his death has upset many of my friends. RIP.
