The pirate ship is setting sail again!
I don't think so, they're already releasing Copacabana Beach Live next month or so
Would be plenty of motivation to announce sooner rather than later whether that's this week or next week.
More and more announcement means more of people's funds being allocated to shows and with pent up demand as it is today, people are paying now and thinking later
Not to mention completing the dates frees up all of 2022 (60th Anniversary) which is likely another motivator.

I think the 2021 hope is mainly driven by Jagger's comments that seemed to express a desire to perform in the US this year if possible.

No its not. Its usually 4 months plus.
It was a comment on one of the dozens of Stones fan facebook pages that I was scouring through for more info - nothing official.
Again, leaning towards it being an announcement for rescheduled dates, but not sure if it will be for 2021 or 2022...or if this means anything at all.

If that's true maybe they just want to clear those dates out so that 2022, the 60th Anniversary available for something really significant. They're bound to have at least been thinking about it a la Licks 50th.

Don't forget that the majority of the Stones tickets have already been sold.
A surprisingly high number of casual fans don't even know about the possibility of a refund. Trust me, I run into them on the Stones' social almost daily.
(BTW, who's to say that the possible rescheduling announcement isn't going to be about 2022 anyway? Most big names are rescheduling to 2022, not this year.)

Normally tour announcement is around 2 months before the first show.If they announce new shows the first show could take place around August 1st.

You have to keep in mind that this is (supposedly) about rescheduling, not a new tour. So that time window they have used may not necessarily matter here.

If this is truly a teaser for the announcement for rescheduled dates, the most positive take away from it is that Ronnie (and the rest of the band)
have been given the all clear from the insurance companies which seemed to be a concern.
