I had a spectacular New Year's Eve in Vienna that was also Stones-related because the band in front of Rathaus played Satisfaction in half an hour before midnight and then the first song they played after midnight was Start Me Up!! That really brought a smile to my face and made me sing out loud.

Thanks for that interesting information, Bjornulf. I have been to Norway three times in my naval career (UK, Royal Navy) and loved it. I was once in the Arctic doing winter training with a naval air squadron and experienced real cold weather, but saw the Northern Lights and perpetual darkness in the day, something I have never forgotten. Home for Christmas, then back to a small place called Tretten for 2 months, not far from Lillehammer. My first foreign port on my first ship was Oslo.
I do recall having a cassette player with me so I could play some Stones. Many thanks for all your great posts over the years, I have loved them all, especially your reports from the concerts you have attended and your many superb photos. Cheers, or should I say Tak!
