Well, I don't think that C&CITB is on par with Mr McCartneys average album, so I left it in the shop. I found about 3 tracks on it that I found enjoyable, and I had already bought Eric Clapton's Back Home recently, which unfortunately went straight downhill after close listening. If you listen to McCartney's single Fine Line, you might notice touches of ELO's Livin'Thing in there. Besides that, it's copy-protected in most parts of the world.
In contrast, ABB is on par with Bridges and VL, too.

Most important thing is that he's just a plain @#$%&, actually.

The first Velvet Underground is one of the best albums of all time and took about 20 years to sell a few thousand copies, sales and every thing else mean nothing.

If you prefer Maccas latest to ABB fine by me. I won't be buying it and I'm not interested.

And All Of The Day by The Kinks is the first heavy metal record, not Helter Skelter.

He can play "Please please me" and that's enough. Who wants to play that crap anyway?

Easy to play those popsongs...

Remember from high-school, everybody could play those easygoing Beatles / Wings popsongs on piano and guitar - myself included...

So why make a big deal out of it?????

1.- I hear that Jaco Pastorius is the best bass player ever. Macca's also good.

2.- If you don't like rock 'n roll you don't like the Stones. And vice versa.

3.- Driving Rain wasn't better than Forty Licks. Lay off the LSD.

4.- Who cares about records?

Let me tell you: When I first started on this forum, I also went to the Paul McCartney forum and started bashing everybody over saying the Stones ruled all (That's also true grinning smiley). Take this advice: Don't do it. There's no reason for it, and people will not like you for it. I bet even the fans on this forum would say that it's stupid.

I believe that this is the 1st observable instance of a fart transmogrifying into text in the public domain.

Check the credits on his "Back In The USA" live video from a couple of years back, he reversed the credits on that one also!

NO.......

PAUL REVESRED THE CREDINT ON HIS BACK IN THE US CD TOO......

BY THE WAY....I WAS JUST AN OCCASIONAL FAN OF THE STONES...BUT AFTER SEEING THEM IN LA IN 2003...I TOTALLY CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT THE BAND.

I REALIZED HOW MICK COULD BANG 18 YEAR OLD CHICKS............A THING THAT I COULDN'T IMAGGINED HOW HE DID IT.

BUT SEEING HIM ON THAT STAGE....BOY.....OF COURSE CHICKS WILL DIG THAT...EVEN THOUGH HE IS SO FREAKING UGLY.

BUT TO COMPARE IT WITH MACCA SHOWS....THERE S NO COMPARISON. MACCA SHOWS ARE ABOUT THE MUSIC.........IT'S A SHOW FOR EVERYONE.

THERE S ROCK AND ROLL, ROCK, HAVY METAL, BALLADS, COUNTRY , DISCO....EVERYTHING.

THE STONES..SOMETIEMS YOU CAN GET BORED WHEN THEY TRY TO EXTEND A SONG LONGER.

SO AS FAR AS BEST SHOW AROUND...MACCA IS AT THE TOP.

PAUL MCCARTNEY'S LAST 6 STUDIO ALBUMS HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED BY CRITICS AND FANS TO BE MASTERPIECES.......AND THERE S NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

PAUL MCCARTNEY IS MORE VERSATILE THAT THE STONES AS A GROUP.

HE CAN PLAY ROCK AND ROLL AND LOTS OF OTHER TYPES OF MUSIC

THE STONES...STRAIGHT ROCK AND ROLL..AND THAT'S IT@@@@

CHAOS AND CREATION IS A MASTERPIECE BECAUSE IT CONTAINS GREAT SONGS.L....AND EVERY SONG IS DIFFERENT.......

THERE S A BIT OF EVERYTHING....ROCK AND ROLL, ROCK, COUTNRY, FOLK, BALLADS...BOLERO.

EVERYTHING

THE STONES ARE GREAT.....BUT MACCA....THE SOLO ARTIST, I M NOT TAKLING ABOUT THE BEATLES.......IS GREATER THAN THE STONES.....
IN POPULARITY AND IN ARTISTIC VERSATILITY

A Bigger Bang is probably too long -- but how else would you change it -- classic Stones, it rocks! I went to a show with a friend who is 15 years younger than me. She is not a Stones fan, and really only knew the warhorses, but she was on her feet the whole show. She said that the only time she wasn't into it was during the Worst and BOMH, which I can understand. To a new fan, Rough Justice and ONNYA flowed seamlessly with the classics -- can't say that about a Macca show. When he plays a new song, everyone heads for the loo

Driving Rain wan't considered a masterpiece. And it isn't one either. It sucks IMO.

Ferrante, where is the Rock'n Roll in the new Macca's album? I can't hear any!
In a Stones show you can hear rock, blues, country, disco, funk, soul...the Stones are much more eclectic that you think, just listem to them more carefully next time.

That being said, I agree Macca's shows are awesome, but in my book they're still far to top what our boys can do on stage!

I think it would be hilarious...a great "SNL" skit..

What were the last 6 Macca discs?

Flowers in the dirt - Excellent, but masterpiece? Motor of Love?

Off The Ground - nope. Decent, but nowhere near masterpiece, imo.

Flaming Pie - Now that's more like it! Great Macca. Masterpiece? Maybe.

Run Devil Run - Masterpiece!...but he didn't write most of it. It's really kind of a toss-off.

Driving Rain - About half a good album.

Chaos & Creation - Possibly his best album. I say masterpiece without reservation. It's great that Macca is performing well also.

Just my opinion! I totally agree that C&C is a landmark for Sir Paul. But, ABB is a great comeback for the Stones. I am glad I can enjoy the hell out of both of them without having to pit one against the other!

No they haven't. This is the only one. The others are just boring and are considered by critics to be boring and pointless.

Let me tell you a little about ferrante. He goes on the Macca site and says shit like "Oh my goodness! The Stones have sold more tickets than Paul! This is terrible news for us Macca fans!" Then he goes on the Stones site and says "Oh no! Paul's album is better than the Stones album! The Stones have again been humbled by the Beatle! This is terrible news for us Stones fans!" He's an idiot. Just ignore him.

What a boring crap....

Hey the Stones aren't about evolution( ABB aside) so give Macca his due. The Stones rip themselves off repeatedly but if you're gonna steal, you might as well steal from the best. The Paul album is very good because he's actually embracing some of the darkness that everyone must contain. I mean Linda died and all-he couldn't just "Scramble Egg" that away with a verse chorus verse fluff nugget.
Their are alot of RS apoligists here, no surprise, but ABB is NOT a great album. It isn't. There are moments granted but overall it shows none of the depth or sincerity necessary for a great rock n roll album. Personally, Keith excluded, Mick is not writing from his heart but from a target marketed checkbook hidden in his trousers that are no longer gonna fall down.

Rock is dead. Long live rock.

i have always enjoyed mccartney and the beatles, but the difference is that although mccartney can do it all, he's always been kind of a mellow guy basically.

when i want to rock, i always put the stones on. i think both of those albums (ABB & CACITcool smiley are probably the best we're going to get as these people get older. no sense in arguing about which is better. i didnt' see mccartney this time due to the ticketprice of the stones but i knew i would get a more 'rocking' show with the stones. besides, both of them know what their fanbase really want to hear, 'the old songs' .

By the way: McCartney/Lennon were the credits on the first Beatles album Please Please Me. It´s nothing new McCartney came up with on his live albums 1976 and 2002.
