Macca's new album better than bigger bang
Posted by: ferrante9 ()
Date: October 18, 2005 10:40

yes......chaos and creation is a lot better because it's very diversed.

bigger bang is just straight rock and roll..while chaos has a good mix of different types of music

driving rain is better than chaos too.

overall, because macca can play different style of music, and can play all the instruments, he is the king of the kings of music.

let's not forget that wings outsold the beatels and the stones combined in the 70
s!!!!!

plus he holds the record for attandance for a paying concert audience.

in rio 184 000 people......a world record for a solo act.

can mick jagger play for a sold out crowd of 184 000??? i higly doubt it.

I wouldn't call Streets Of Love, Rain Fall Down, Biggest Mistake, This Place Is Empty or Laugh I Nearly Died "straight rock and roll".

Look dude. Let me correct you on everything you said.

1.- You can't say that the new Macca CD is better because it's more diverse. Who cares if it's diverse. If a Stones CD had BS, JJF, HTW, SMU, GS, Satisfaction and Rocks Off on it (And if these songs weren't released), that would also be a CD full of mere rock tracks. But WHAT rock tracks I say. This would have been their masterpiece.
I could make my own CD with some lame flutes and many different instruments, but that doesn't make it better. Diversity has nothing to do with it.

2.- Driving Rain sucks monkey balls.

3.- "Macca is the king of the kings of music". Who gives? As long as I'm with The Kings Of Rock 'n Roll I couldn't care less.

4.- I'll say it again: NUMBER OF SOLD RECORDS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING!!!!! ould you like Britney Spears because she sold a lot???

5.- Yeah OK. Solo Macca (With band by the way) has an attendance record. But Stones with 450.000 at the Toronto SARS concert beats that for sure.
In some years the record will even be beaten. And would you like SpongeBob if it was him??? You know you wouldn't.

It may seem that I don't like Paul McCarteny, but I do. I love him. He's in my top 7 of all-time greats. But Chaos And Creation is very very good, but NOWHERE NEAR A Bigger Bang.

Although I like two of Maccas songs and think they are better than the songs on ABB - the album is not. ABB is better and this comes from LA FORUM(!). Too much rain is better than any song on ABB. But, ONNYA rocks anything Maccas done from his red and blue hair.

Even if A BIGGER BANG isn't what the Gods waited for, still there is no reason to discuss the farts of an ex-Beatles bassist in the holy IORR forum

Out demons out!

@#$%& off, Beatles fan ... don't you have your own forum where you can discuss sweets, birds, flowers, Sgt. Pepper and harmony?

Just wanted to say that 'diverse' shouldn't be a criteria or another word for good.
On the other hand Chaos isn't that more diverse than A Bigger Bang.

Driving Rain was a huge disappointment IMHO. Some good songs, but I don't like listening to it.

Chaos is a brilliant album. No doubt. But ABB is the album of the year (so far).

You can't compare the two records.

I love both albums, but I must admit, that Chaos has more to offer on a long term. Chaos grows on me everytime I listen to it while Bigger Bang has its highlights, but also gets boring in some ways.

I like Macca but his last
few albums put me to sleep,
while the Stones can still
really rock. He was always
Beatle lite anyways. Good
pop muisc, maybe the best,
but often lacks substance,
as with his most recent
work. But if it turns
your crank by all means
enjoy.

With those first few words scrapped I completely agree with Meise

Since I don't care for "Macca", I disagree with your claim.

I think it's cool to see two current releases from these entities
that still maintain "cutting edge" and stand out as some of the best stuff
of their careers. Can you see any band or solo artist who can stand the test of
time and last 40 odd years..??

Name one..I dare you..

Both are good.....Stones are better.

A die-hard Beatle freak went with me to the Atlanta Stones show Saturday. I had went with him to see Macca 3 weeks ago. He said that the Stones were the best concert he'd ever attended and he's been going to show for over 30 years. I agreed!

Ok, Elvis.

He had a #1 hit 20+ years after his death.

no!!!!!!!!!

let me tell you what s up

can mick play jenny wren on the guitar?

can keith or ron play blackbird right???

that's what i thought

the stones are just straight rock and roll and that's about it.

macca can do all types of music. rock, heavy metal, folk, pop, disco, county, acoustic, ballads etc....

chaos and creation is the album of the year!!!!

driving rain was even better than forty licks!!! just listen to lonely road...the best song ever wrtitten since yesterday and hope of delivrance.

flamming pie and flowers in the dirt paul were both masterpieces.

off the ground was a worldwide smash hit!!!!

if it wasn't for macca, the stones would be nobody......who wrote i wanna be your man to make the stones popular????

the asnwer is paul mccartney.

who inveted havy metal? paul mccartney with helter skelter!!!!!!

who is a better musician overall ? paul mccartney.....versatile to say the least.

from drums to flute,........ he probably is a better drummer than charlie.....did you hear the drumming on back in the USSR????

macca is the best bassist of all time!!! just listen to silly love song......
macca is the best songwriter of all time and he is one of the best signer of all time too......listen to oh darling or lonley road......nevermind mick.

chaos and creation is a mellow album, however, it contains very melodic stuff ....bigger bang is just an hour of straight rock and roll...that's it!!!!

as far as the tour......pauls' tour is more fun because the music is a lot better.

the stones just goes trhough the set list quickly so they can go home.......no passion what so ever..........

and remember......tehs toens played in front of 450 000 in toronto, but it was a festival which featured other acts.

macca holds the recod of most people at a concert for a solo act...rio 1990 , in front of 184 000 people.

he also played in rome in 2003 in front of 500 000.....a freec oncert though.

wings outsold the stones and the beatles combined in the 70s

he is the richest musician of all time

he was named the most succesful composer of all time

what's up with that huh????

Why're you writing loads of lies on a Stones forum?
Go to the Macca forum and speak all of you want there, I doubt that someone will believe the 70-80% of your post.

I love when lennon used to put paul in his place, because of his wimpy lyrics- There is an a beatles anthology where paul is singing about some teddy bear and lennon just rips into the song- so fun!!! Hey bud, rock and roll isn't about technical its about feeling- and though I like some of paul's stuff its not something to blast while having a great time- its more introspective.

Talkin bout the....

actually it is true

wings out sold the beatels and the stones combined in the 70'
s

they were the second best selling act of that decade

paul was named the most sucesfull composer of all time

first billioner to get it from music

record attandance for a solo act... 184 000.

sold more records than anybody ......

what more can you say?

chaos album of the year.

Why do you continuously repeat yourself? You have your opinion, we have ours. So, what's up, dude? Is there nobody else that's listening to your teddy bear stories? Did you already have your glass of milk today?

It's nonsense to suggest the McCartney record is more diverse, OR better.

It's almost all a slow, acoustic record. Not to mention simply plain boring and bad.

ABB has rock, blues, ballads, funk, KEITH, country-ish and acoustic.

I've aid it b4 (and been flamed for it) but McCartney has done zip since The Beatles. I reckon he needed Lennon to say "Paul, that's trite and tripe", so as to produce the goods AND vica versa. Similar to Jagger/Richards actually!

so......how come macca holds all of those records?

why dont you asnwer that question?

i love miss you and beast of burden.........but macca did helter skelter, yesterday, silly love songs, no more lonley nights, ebony ivory.....mamma mia.....and many more.....

Re: Macca's new album better than bigger bang

I personally think both albums suffer the loss of one main ingredient - originality.
Sorry to say I haven't bought ABB, I have heared it many times, but can't bring myself to buy it.
If this is The Stones swan song, I am sad.

I have to say, I think McCartneys album is better produced.

Ebony and Ivory? Silly Love Songs? Oh please.....to actually put them in the same sentence as Yesterday and Helter Skelter surely shows exactly how much he slipped since, well, since The Beatles.

Numbers (records) don't actually count for anything. Otherwise we'd all have to agree that Rubber Ducky (#1 hit record for Ernie from the Muppets) or Fastest Milkman in the West (#1 hit record by British comerdian Benny Hill, for example, were among the best songs ever written...

Come on, cool it down, ferrante. Some things are right - of course Macca is a different musician who plays all kind of instruments live. He´s great. The Stones are in a different league. You can talk for hours and compare McCartney/Stones, but what for?
There is no sense.

I have said that I listen more to the latest McCartney-album than to Bigger Bang, because I find Chaos growing each time. But I listen to the Stones live recordings of this tour a lot - and wow they rock!

Both acts are great in their final stage (come on, these are old men, in a few years it will all be over for us fans).

LETS NOT WASTE OUR TIME AND ENERGY ON FIGHTING ABOUT STUPID COMPARISONS. LETS ENJOY THE MUSIC WHILE IT IS STILL PERFORMED LIVE IN FRONT OF US.
