It was pointed out on the BBC that the US female team has 3 stars on their badge to denote 3 World Cup wins, which is fair enough. They're the dominant force in Women's Football (Soccer) But the men's team have 3 stars on theirs too and the best they've ever done is a quarter final appearance in 2002 (Round of 8). Somewhat questionable I think?

The ‘tea sipping’ celebration was classless, but I’ll be gentlemanly and other my begrudging congratulations to the Yanks on their victory. Well done. Can we move on to another topic, now?

USA are obviously a great team, but I just feel that Sweden or The Netherlands could possibly beat them on Sunday afternoon.
I'm sure it's gonna be another great game tonight and may the best team win.smileys with beer

the brazil woman have 5 stars on their jersey because the men have won 5 times. i think its odd to wear stars on the jersey if you have not won the world cup.

Reminds me of a club that died in 2012 and it's tribute version with 5 stars.

Yup. Not very endearing at all. Even I was cheering on England and I'm Scottish winking smiley. Your team did you proud and were very unlucky. Ran themselves knackered. Skill wise I thought the teams were fairly even but the US won on pace, strength and fitness. England gave the US their hardest game yet and with luck and better marking, could have won it.

Moving on to tonight, another interesting clash. The Dutch team are extremely tall and unsurprisingly, many of their goals come from headers. The Swedes upset the form book and knocked out Germany, so cannot be dismissed.

I think I know the one grinning smiley The one whose zombie reincarnation play in the same stadium, and have yet to win any silverware in their own country. Your lot did the rest of us a favour by stiffing them in both Cup Competitions last season in their own city smileys with beer.

At least you can legitimately wear stars.

Totally agree it should only be the team that actually won it.

Gotta say that was not a great first half for both teams and just can't compare it to the game of USA v England.
Hopefully things will get better in second half, instead of no goals for both teams.
thumbs up

I dont know... I dont watch many many matches, typically only World Cup, but it seems to me these women have more action than most matches Ive ever seen. They are intense, good ball control, good ball defense... GOING FOR IT ALL THE TIME. To me it is exciting!!! AND GOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLL!!!!! but no...... dang it!!! Almost a goal for ORANGE... but no... it was off the bar.

I think this is great action, very entertaining...
and I am watching on a channel speaking a language I do not understand... but I dont need to.
