I dont know... I dont watch many many matches, typically only World Cup, but it seems to me these women have more action than most matches Ive ever seen. They are intense, good ball control, good ball defense... GOING FOR IT ALL THE TIME. To me it is exciting!!! AND GOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLL!!!!! but no...... dang it!!! Almost a goal for ORANGE... but no... it was off the bar.

I think this is great action, very entertaining...
and I am watching on a channel speaking a language I do not understand... but I dont need to.

thumbs up

I swear... it wears me out just watching... hand me that oxygen mask... and a shot of Vodka! Orange Vodka!!

Come on Orange women, you can do it!!!

PS
I also find it good that these women in this world cup(for the most part) do less diving than a lot of mens matches I have watched.

Well ,I must admit that this game hasn't yet done anything for me ,although both teams are doing their best to get a goal.

The way things are going, whoever loses will also lose to England in the bronze medal game on Saturday afternoon.
Come on Sweden or The Netherlands.... to put that extra effort (if you can...... in this heat) and get a good winning team to beat USA in the Final. thumbs up

WOW!! excellent block at 92:00.... keeping the score 0-0...
This is thrilling.... The foreplay is over.... time to get down to it!!

Overtime... that was intense. 0-0

In case anyone was wondering like me... the semis have same rules.

Overtime rules for the FIFA World Cup tournament.
Two 15-minute periods of extra time
No Golden Goal, they play out the full extra time no matter how many goals are scored
If tied, they go to a penalty shootout, which is the best of five

I’ve loathed the Netherlands ever since a ten-year-old Big Al witnessed them dash England’s hopes of qualifying for USA ‘94

Lets hope this score holds... I have things I have to do, places I am supposed to be...
and offering them the excuse I was busy watching woman's soccer will most likely only get me furrowed brows.
I will be better off saying I had a flat tire grinning smiley

But THIS IS EXCITING!!! More exciting than my afternoon obligations.

FIFA WORLD CUP IS AWESOME!!!
The only sport where the players truly earn the title WORLD CHAMPION.

They both were not very good and in this form don't stand a chance against the USA, but... in football everything is possible!!

Sweden should have claimed for the penalty.

Why did var people not point it out? I'm not up on all the rules about var yet.

Hmmm! Didn't the deid club stiff HER MAJESTY's Revenue & Customs for over £100m, leaving we lesser mortals to pick up the tab? Anyone who cannot pay any of a large tax bill is LIQUIDATED and an ex parrot.
If they win a trophy, it will be their first.

Back on topic, I saw some of that tonight and thought it was grim. I fully expect the US to sweep the Dutch aside, though I hope to be wrong.

England are probably now the 2nd best team in the women's game. Scotland are improving with a few talented players, Erin Cuthbert in particular. We need them all playing in professional leagues and most now do.

I hope so too, Koen. Grzegorz: I would rank France higher than England. They outplayed USA parts of the game. England never did that. See my ranking above.

They had possession and pressure but not really much of a goal threat and the US just soaked it up. They also had home advantage, which does make a difference.

I am too. The Swedish players should have challenged the referee. But they didn't. The replay shows that the Dutch player didn't touch the ball.
The referee is not popular here though. A bad overall performance by her. Sweden drew the short straw there unfortunatelly.

In other games things have been picked up by var people and brought to the refs attention. Very odd this wasn't.

Looking forward to the Saturday game ,and hoping England will win against Sweden.
USA are gonna be the favourites team to win on Sunday...……...but I gotta feeling that The Netherlands will have the surprise win of the World Cup tournament. smileys with beer

It's going to be a nail-biter. The Dutch need to play more disciplined and concentrated to win. Any small error is lethal against the US team.

Fun fact: Dutch coach Sarina Wiegman used to play with Mia Hamm at the University of North Carolina.

It will be difficult for Holland to win against Usa. But luck wont run out, i hope.
Go orange go.
