I Guess some of the teles were built in late 72, and maybe later in the shops...

yeah, Keith unveiled it in a video clip of a rehearsal for the may 10th 2005 press conference
(and as you noted earlier he didn't use it too often - i think it was only seen at the very start of the tour.)
