"Kirshner knew a hit when he heard it: In 1969, “Sugar, Sugar” (cowritten by Jeff Barry and Andy Kim) wound up knocking the Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Women” out of the No. 1 spot," [www.rollingstone.com]
working myself through the LP box of Queen (Studio albums). Never was that much into Queen, but they really surprise me. Especially the first 5 or 6 albums are really cool. Quite an amazing band.
The question that came up to me lately was: is there any connection between the Stones and Queen / Freddie Mercury? I see a lot of parallels between Mercury as a performer and Mick Jagger. Somehow they must have influenced each other, being 2 of the major rock acts in the 70's and 80's. Never read anything of collaborations between them.
