Micks Moves

After doing a scientific study of models, of the two entertainers, side by side, I have come to the conclusion, that Mick derived some of his onstage moves from Tina Turner.

I'm kinda kidding. BUT__There are some similar.

Has he ever performed with her?
Thanks

she said the same thing after the 69 tour
(Ike & Tina were one of the warm-up acts for the Stones -
and you bet she and Mick have performed together).

back in the 69 tour...

jagger was better too last night....i loved his moves on stage...
he was less scripted then in his last few tours.. free, loose....he was great..
with all the talk about richards/wood being back.....100%
jagger is even better too...looks more like he was in 1969...very cool looking..
he moves are coming from his heart this time and not from a dance teacher...

I was driving home early sunday morning through bakersfieeeld...... listening to gospel music on the colored radio station... and the preacher said, you know you always have the loooooooooooooooord by your side.

Okay with that being said... Mick's moves are pretty cool. There's allot of adrenaline on stage at a Rolling Stones show, and a big part of it comes from him. He's the best performer ever, for me.

Try checking out some early James Brown footage...you'll find a bunch of moves from him.

Thanks all...I remember in the 70's I had to literally be drug kicking and screaming, to Las Vegas, to see Elvis. I was not a big fan...he was just soso

WOW! Did I come away with a new perspective...and now I have that memory.
He was awesome...pre tubby days.

Don't forget Mick and Tina at Live Aid and a few Stones shows in 81. That said most of his moves were attempts to copy James Brown after the TAMI show appearance with The Godfather Of Soul.

Mick's a musical magpie:

In the early sixties he stole his moves from James Brown
In the late sixties he stole his make-up from Tina Turner
In the seventies he stole his wardrobe from Carmen Miranda

But he comes by his lips honestly, which is more than one can say for most of today's celebrity singers.

>> In the early sixties he stole his moves from James Brown <<

true enough; and he learned a lot from Bo Diddley and Little Richard as well.
Mick sure does have a remarkable repertoire of movements -
one of my all-time favourites is that moment at Brixton when he runs out of room horizontally,
so he starts bouncing straight up in the air like a ball.
a freakin lunatic rock & roll ball that's just got to MOVE, bless his face ... :E
