Wow! Is the the best mix yet of the archive stuff? Nice, clear, bouncy bass. The guitars are right where they should be and easy to hear, good crack on the snare and pristine vocals! I've only listened to the second disc, but, from what I've heard, not only is the sound better, but it is a livelier, better performance that the Miami show. Maybe my favorite version of slipping away ever. Good to have Love Is Strong, but I could always do without Rock and a Hard Place! This really should have been the worldwide release. I cant wait for the video if it ever comes. Ordered from Amazon US, but they won't give me a shipping date yet. I have a feeling it will be a while.
Completely different cam mix than the old 90s release. Great! Picture also better than the old version, may be 1280*720 SD, but not HD.
Also this one has 16:9 video compared to the old release being 4:3.
So one can say that we now have two different video shows available.
Audio:
Music seems to be a bit clearer than on the old release, having Micks voice with less echo and the audience seems to be less loud. I´m curious how the single channels are separated.
Of course lightyears better than Miami uncut which was no surprise, but also improvement to the 90s release.
Sound and picture are much better. Different angles in some songs vs laserdisc. Overall very happy. Played the whole thing last night. What I like about this tour was it was much less polished than steel Wheels tour. It’s probably their most ragged and raw ( and I mean that in a good way) since the 1981/1982 tour
The different angles and/or editing was the difference between the TV broadcast and the released Laser Disc/VHS version. There was a bootleg release a couple of years ago on the so called "No Label", which had both versions on it. So if the new release is different than they have chosen the other (television) version, or maybe it's a mix up from both versions?

Don' t think the sound is that much better than Miami. A bit, yeah, no comb filtering effects like on Miami but still it's very muddy sounding. There high treble frequencies are cut off, just like on Miami. Also Mick's voice is faaaar to loud. And the stereo image is very narrow. I even prefer the bootleg, sound wise. Also, in my opionion, the performance is good but rather average. They played on other concerts with more energy, especially during the '94 US leg of the tour

Just listened to it. I really like the Sound and the mix. I was really dissatisfied with the sound of the Mami but this one is great. You can hear the difference especially on the accoustic Songs. Great Show, great Songs. I had so much fun this evening with this Show.
I've done a quick comparison with the Laser disc I have of this show. I'd say this sounds slightly more compressed with a narrower sound stage, but the guitars are a little louder which is always a good thing. There's more bottom end on this new release which is good as the old mix was slightly thin sounding. I would like a little more sparkle in the high end, but I'm happy overall.
Whilst maybe not perfect, it still sounds a million times better than the god awful Miami release which was one of the worst sounding mixes ever.

you people asking for wetransfer links are disgusting.....go out and buy the thing if you want it. Maybe if you buy it they'll release more stuff. If you don't want to buy it than enjoy your old bootlegs. Is it expensive? You bet it is, but it costs just as much as a silver cd/dvd boot have back in the day. Yea it sucks they only released it in japan....just like the second steel tokyo from the vault....I refuse to pay for that one because it's the exact same set list, and a rip off.......but this show is awesome.....the sweet virginia alone is worth the price
I compared both releases. The new VL in Japan is 2db louder and has a narrower dynamic range (more compression involved). Also a better source was used.
I bought this from Amazon US, but they still won't give me a shipping date. It was quite pricey and, being anxious to hear it, I really appreciated the link to the download of the audio tracks that I asked for. I really don't care if anyone is "disgusted" by that.
Has anyone received this from from Amazon US? Or even a ship date?
Ross, I bought mine from cdjapan, they shipped it already but there's no tracking for Germany. Did you do a price comparison between the two places? Seems like it's usually cheaper with cdjapan. Maybe I'm wrong though. Hope it shows up soon for you.
I'm bummed I won't be able to see this concert, unless I buy a Blu-Ray from the U.S.A. then plug adapters. It seems a bit much just to see it, but i'd love to see a screen grab of the widescreen 16:9, because i wonder if it's a crop or was it shot with wide angle camera's
