lem motlowI saw him telling the story on television and he wasn’t upset in the least,he was telling it as a kind of puzzling event rather than something that upset him.Quote
keefriff99It figures you'd be the one to blow his rather mild critique out of proportion.Quote

Poor poor pitiful Lars, it is miraculous that he was able compose himself and play drums that night,
he must have been shattered... he probably still cries himself to sleep thinking about that mean ole Mick Jagger.
He seemed surprised at what a bunch of douches the Stones were, and any fair minded person would say they clearly were.
Leonioid,I see you’re still heading up the rapid response team to put down any dissension in the ranks. Is there anything they could do to make you criticize them? Cmon, there has to be something,
Maybe we should talk about Micks favorite color and Keith’s favorite food so you don’t get upset.
Agreed Lem M,it never ceases to amaze me how intolerant some people here are[/b],what Lars said wasn't insulting at all,he gave his opinion end of the story, but somehow some think that saying anything about The Stones that doesn't agree with their view of the band, will make a you a pariah or the enemy, that kind of attitude reminds of someone in high office that does the same with those that disagree with him,,enuff said....

lol... and now anyone who is not fully on board the Stones bashing train is just like "someone in high office that does the same with those that disagree with him"... and all the bashers agree in unison... okey dokey...
Dont worry bashers... eventually you will drive away everyone who is in this for fun and drive away people who do not share your enjoyment for non-stop bashing on The Stones... and then the board will be all yours... it is pretty close now as more and more people (who actually still like the band) come here to post less.

I recall that story keefriff99, in fact I was at that show.
Having seen Metallica in the mid-'80's when they were still edgy and relatively unknown, and then seeing them become somewhat diluted and sterile thereafter with their rise in popularity, I opted to stay at a bar with friends pre-show rather than endure them as opening acts. Nothing wrong with them really, but seemed such an odd choice to have as an opening act for a Stones show. I do recall some young knucklehead Metallica fans after the show was over boldly claiming "Metallica blew the Stones away"!!! haha. Perhaps for them it was true, but have to think they were in the minority on that one.
Of course it was true. You hid outside so you could pretend it didn't happen.

So did anybody get tickets to this thing?
One of the reasons it will be great and the Stones will also be doing the same thing ,it’s not an either or deal-you can still do these shows as part of a tour.
Most people don’t realize that Elvis in the 70s did a couple weeks at the international hotel but was playing the same 18000 seat arenas that the Stones and Zep did right until the end.
He wasn’t some big fat guy playing a lounge in front of 500 people that’s for sure.
He was only really heavy for a short while and at the time of his death was only four years away from his last number one single (burning love,1973)that’s more than you can say for every rock band on the planet right now.
Giles Martin is doing the sound for Aerosmith,he did the sound for the Beatles Love show.i saw one of the test runs for that and the sound was unbelievable, and I don’t even like the Beatles.i could be wrong but I think he’s George Martins son.

Out of curiosity, wondering what Mick's favorite color is? Maybe black?
And Keith's favorite food....Shepherds Pie?

The Aerosmith meet and greets are nothing new as they have been doing this for years. Last tour I think the cost was $2500.00 which I believe included tix in the first 10 rows or something like that. There used to be pics on the Aerosmith website and Joe Perry looks miserable having to pose with fans. Rarely smiles. I have read he hates those things.
That being said I have seen the band many times since 1974 and they never dissapointed me.
I've heard that Tom is the nicest and most "normal" guy in the band by far. Maybe Brad too, but Tom seems like a real sweetheart.Quote

I met them in 1990 at a record label meet & greet. Joe was actually pretty nice back then. Tom Hamilton was awesome, extremely personable. Steven Tyler was kind of gross. Was only interested in someone's wife's cleavage. If I were in Vegas at the time & the tickets weren't too outrageous, I'd probably go to the residency. Would be more excited to go see the Who at Caesar's if they do that again. There has been talk of another run there. I haven't been to the new theater where Aerosmith are playing. The room @ Caesar's is great. Fantastic sound & not a bad seat in the house. I've seen Elton, Rod & Jerry Seinfeld there. Elton was pretty good & Rod was shockingly good.

Your idea of ‘Stones bashing’ seems to be anything less than a gushing eulogy of them. Do we have to worship everything they do?
I’m a fan, like everyone else on here. Yes, I have my grumbles and gripes like most fans but I remain a fan nonetheless and I actually go to shows. I’ve seen 22 in the 2012+ era. And you?
