England played best out of the two sides and so glad they won.

Not sure if it was just me, but not what I call an exciting game of good football.


A few missed chances , but England now in the Semi's and a very good chance of getting to the Final.


Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was excellent for England and made some really good saves.

As a Scot who grew up at a time when our teams were on a roughly equal footing before my own fell away to oblivion I will confess to being green with envy.

The cards have fallen very kindly for England and all they can do is beat what’s in front of them which, apart from Belgium, they have done. You will never get a better chance than this.

Didn't watch the game. Saved my heart. I read that they (Sweden) were lackluster and slow. Did their worst game in the tournament. England wasn't good either they tell me.
But good enough to win against a bleak team on the day. Anyway, congrats to England and I wish you all the luck in the remaining games. Pity about Sweden.
They were really close to making it big. But that's life I guess. You can't always get what you want...

Im not sure, but watching this RUS V CRO in overtime, it looked to me like the RUS defended closest to the goal just stood there and watched the ball go by him into the goal. He didnt even flinch... seems like he should have done something... kicked at it... or something... he had to know there was danger... and to be ready....

IT IS EXCITING!!!! I read some hate PK to decide the game... but it is what it is... and it shows the teams so evenly matched that... better than a coin flip... AND WAY MORE EXCITING!

And Im glad I wasn't the only one who thought he was was just standing there...
he should be anticipating, ready, moving, even if in the wrong direction...
but not just standing there when the ball is in their house, in the danger zone.

The good part is I have not seen much of that at all...
It seems like good play most of the time with all the players "WANTING IT" more more than anything ever.

Seen the game now. In hindsight: Sweden had two really good chances. Their goalie made two qualified saves on those. In the end that is what makes the difference.
Swedish marking on their second goal was awful though. I wonder what happened there?
