Okey, my personal ranking of the teams left. All based on form and games overall:

1) France - If they can play like they did against Argentina, so...
2) Brazil - changes tempo well. Good inside and outside the penalty box.
3) Uruguay - two very effective strikers in Suarez and Cavani.
4) Belgium
5) Croatia
6) Sweden
7) England
8) Russia

Clearly the first four teams are in the better group. The four latter teams all stand
a very good chance of making it to the final without facing too stiff competition.
Chances will probably never come better than this...
Well, well....I'm not very good at this predictions' game.

Uruguay can be dangerous for France if Cavani plays on Friday. I still don't know if he will.

I still believe that England and Russia can go to semi final

1/ Brazil
2/ France
3/ Russia
4/ England

Sweden will win against overrated england. Not a good team.

I haven't seen a decent team yet.

Come on, TFD. France did well against Argentina. And Brazil looks pretty good. Uruguay have two really good strikers. The rest is pretty bland however. I agree with that.

Yep, you're right SA. I'm just a bit frustrated that the Dutch didn't even qualify for this tournament. Where are the good old days of Dutch football?

Columbia last night....a disgrace to football, a player like Falcao, who I always have admired....lost all respect. Thank God England won.

Yes bobo justice was done last night, terrible the way columbia acted.

As a english guy im not sure how far england will go in the world cup,
but they do have a good defence.
They just lack abit of flair upfront.

i still think russia will win it but i hope i'm wrong, brazil are slow starters, but they seem to be getting into gear with each game.

You would think from the reaction here in england last night and today, that we had won the world cup lol.

But it was great to see england win on penalties as we don't have a good past record with penalties.

The world cup is wide open looking at the teams left.

Listen fellas, Columbia is a district in Washington. Or a province in Canada. Or, a lots of other things. But it's not a country in South America!

columbias manager said england were out of order last night, what game was he watching, his team were lucky to keep 11 players on the pitch, and what was the player thinking about when he fouled for the penalty.

columbia were a disgrace to football which is a shame cos they can be a very decent side when they play.

Englands' deliberate loss against Belgiums' B-team might get them far in this tournament, but it surely doesn't make them great. It's a very strange competition, with all the strong teams in one half of the table (Croatia excepted).

It's tough, isn't it? To spell Colombia right. Do you even read other people's posts here?

im sure you know which colombia i mean stoneage. i can spell when it matters, its just this laptop i have with me, sometimes have to type without looking at the letters or it will take me a lot longer.

anyway bring it on sweden v england.

english media have went on about how england have went so much further than usual.

let me put the media right.

in the past, england lost to italy, uruguay, germany, portugal, brazil, argentina, this time they have only beat or scored from open play v tunisia or panama.

no exactly rocket science to figure it out.

I agree with that, Buttons67. Sweden against England can end any which way. If England prefers to be favorites - fine with me. There is only one thing I fear: Harry Kanes tendency to fall in the penalty box.
He is a penalty enabler grand mal. I hope Team Sweden has studied this and goes easy on him in the penalty box. Colombias example is not to follow...

Belgium over Brazil
France over Uruguay
Russia over Croatia
England over Sweden

Then,

France over Belgium
England over Russia

Then,
France vs. England...I can't choose, probably France.

Swedish Black Metal vs. New Wave Of British Heavy Metal

Advantage: Britain

The Swedes have embraced the underdog role in this Cup. Won't be surprised at all if they take down England.

Okey, the games tomorrow: I think Brazil will win over Belgium. Belgium were lucky to win against Japan. Now their luck will end. They are not without chance though.
Anything can happen as we have seen before in this World Cup. If Cavani can't play France will be clear cut favorites against Uruguay. If he can play the outcome will not be that obvious.
All in all, my guess: Brazil and France to the semi.

usually world cups are difficult to predict but the bigger nations prevail.

this time it could be so different.

everybody is beatable, and its a bit of a lottery now.

wouldnt mind seeing a brazil v russia final with brazil winning.

Uruguay over France
Belgium over Brazil
Croatia over Russia
England over Sweden

Belgium over Uruguay
England over Croatia

Belgium over England

I picked Belgium before it all started and I'm sticking with them. England is long overdue for a world cup championship. They are in an easy bracket and have the easiest path to the final. I personally think Belgium vs Brazil is the championship. The winner of that game will be favored to win it all.

Well, speaking as a Belgian who picked France as a personal favourite for the ultimate victory before the tournament started (and is sticking with that), and also saw Brasil play some réally solid football, genuine champions’ style, growing into ‘it’ as the tournament progressed, I must say that if you really would consider it “a miracle” if Belgium would beat Brasil, you haven’t been paying attention for a while... or you’re just very easily shocked. smoking smiley
