I would bet he never runs at all. Even if you are very fit, your knees can only take a certain amount of wear and tear before they are permanently injured. Running is a very costly form of exercise.
That's not true. Proper form, warming up and good footwear are all essential.

Sitting on the fence with this one.

Personally for me, who used to run around 50 miles a week and ended up having a full hip operation due to running.
But i do think it is down to your genes and if you have 'good ' bones, then you would be okay.
I cycle a lot these days and enjoy it, but it wont beat running for me.

The one that amazes me the most is Ronnie, i mean he has buried himself in
drink and drugs for most of his life and he is so fit now, he's this ball of
energy all over the stage, almost 71, he never moved like that when he was
young, his body looks as good as Mick's and he appears to have done very little
to get these results.

Ronnie is a one off...

I couldnt agree more. While Mick's methods are related to mainstream
Buddhist/Jain philosophy, and Keith's to the peculiar sub-school of
Korean Buddhism called the "man of excess" path, Ronnie's are, as you say,
in the sci-fi realm...

Ronnie, through genetics or whatever, processes even very harsh realities
without being scarred. You certainly can't be a great artist, as Mick and
Keith are, nor achieve wisdom, as Mick and Keith have done, without having
been badly scarred, but you can still somehow be awesome Ronnie Wood, by
just being Ronnie Wood, and not trying to be Mick or Keith

I guess that's the secret, to be close to those guys, but not try to be them,
but rather just be there for them. Maybe that's where i've gone wrong...

50 miles a week is impressive.

All I'm saying is that, contrary to what the OP stated, it's not a 100% guarantee that running is going to lead to permanent damage/injury.

12 miles onstage? C'mon...

Supposedly - in 1989, that is (he was 46).

He prepared for the tour with Dundee United's rugby team, allegedly..

Want to enlarge on both those points?
