Thanks for the info Georgelicks! Out of curiousity, I see Back In Black is at 149 on the US charts. What would that equate to in sales?

speaking of album sales, will there be a 50th anniversary beggars banquet.

Late November or early December.
Interesting how the Stones pretty much play a greatest hits set....then the greatest hits comp. albums move in the charts....then the Stones play pretty much only greatest hits on next tour...and hits comps move on charts..and then ...well....no wonder the band only plays old hits..they can read a chart too...this is a vicious cycle ....if undercover, dirty work, and steel wheels suddenly re-entered the charts and sold thousands of copies again you better believe the Stones would be at least trying to play those songs..but of course they are no longer able to so.....wonder why Rewind did'nt re-enter charts.LOLQuote

The tour is driving some sales for the Stones catalog, mostly on their classic compilations as Hot Rocks and Jump Back.
IRELAND

#26 (re entry) Jump Back
#76 (re entry) Sticky Fingers

ENGLAND
#104 (up from #120) Hot Rocks
Hot Rocks is on track to make the UK Top 75 again this week, Jump Back and B&L on track to make the Top 200.

USA
#194 Hot Rocks
The album is back on the Billboard 200 again this week with 5,000 units, mostly from streams points thanks to "Play with Fire" which was on "Westwood". The album has now a US chart span of over 46 years since January 1972 and spent 268 weeks on the Top 200.

Proof positive that there is absolutely no reason to record another album-
Can anyone say with a straight face that a new record would have a rightful place in that catalog? The Stones have a recording history that is a rock and roll masterwork.
The band has entered a final phase where they recreate The Rolling Stones using lights, sound, skill, energy and backing musicians in a live setting.
To recreate The Rolling Stones in a studio setting however,is not possible. They are missing Bill Wyman,Bobby Keys,Mick Taylor,Brian Jones,Ian Stewart,Jimmy Miller and the two main songwriters have nothing in common outside of the love of playing live and cashing checks.
No matter what they play live there is always a couple of songs we wish they would’ve done,I doubt that ever includes streets of love or drivin too fast.

Why has Universal Music actually not updated the 'Jump Back'-Compilation to a 2CD-version 1971-2016 which fits to the new Vinyl-Box 1971-2016?
It would be a good complement to the classic 'Hot Rocks'-Compilation. 'Forty Licks' and 'GRRR!' are already some years old and out of print ....
