Me too. Next to me resurgence of Stones 77'79 outtakes I have also been on a big Miles Davis listening spree. Trying to concentrate on the electric period. And somewhere in the middle of that I saw an Ace Frehley interview. I thought he is a cool dude, and got his solo albums.

I loved the original record, but this is like the best of the other record almost! I’ve listened to it twice tonight.
Possibly the best album the stones never made!!

I loved the original record, but this is like the best of the other record almost! I’ve listened to it twice tonight.
Possibly the best album the stones never made!!

IMO the highlight of that album are the ballads; all of them: the last two of course, but the best one is "Im gonna cry myself blind". At 3:48 they have been doing the "cry cry" part, then they keep it going, but the intro comes back in over different chords this time - the whole thing sounds huge and soul stirring.

Queens of the Stone Age - Like Clockwork (on two 45rpm vinyl - sound's spectacular)

David Bowie - Diamond Dogs (1974 original Japanese LP - one of the best version I've heard)

Nirvana - In Utero (2013 mix on 2 45rpm LP's) - interesting listening experience but hard to beat the original mix...

Love - Forever Changes (45th anniversary edition) - easily recommended

Lou Reed - The Blue Mask (original LP)
