Hey all - set those DVRs! This Saturday, March 10 at 10 pm EST a show I created (and exec produce and appear in) called IT HAPPENED HERE premieres here in the US on the Reelz Channel.

It's all about visiting the EXACT sites where pop culture history happened - ten episodes including Lennon, Joplin, Cobain, Warhol etc- episode #1 features Richard Pryor.

Wow, looks very cool. I love visiting historic spots from rock history. When in New York City last summer (to see Tom Petty), wife and I visited building from “Waitin on a Friend”video and had lunch in the bar at end of video. Then went to where Stones took famous “Have You Seen Your Mother...” “in drag” pic.

Looking forward to this.

That was Prior....I remembered when that happened....and the jokes that pursued, like lighting a match, bouncing it up and down saying "there's Richard Prior running down Parthenia Street"....and since we lived in the area, what we would have given to see that.

As I haven't been by that home for years (or even remember which one it is) I would like to know if there is still a lawn jockey in the front yard of that home.

It was reported that he caught himself on fire while freebasing cocaine. He later said that he poured liquor on himself and tried to burn himself to death. Maybe it was because of sleeping with Marlon Brando (see Quincy Jones' bizarro interview).

The problem was that he dipped his cookie in the 2% milk - the shit blew up!
