i'm putting together a list of 10 underrated stones songs for our newspaper (tagesanzeiger). for example i'd call "rocks off" underrated because although its a well known song its not played live often, not often played at radios like (satisfaction, sympathy, honky tonk - you get the picture).

Imho, the IORR Band version of 'Down in the hole' was much better than the original!

Again, opinion only, love 'Citadel', a gem from a largely forgotten album. It would have been on my list too if I'd thought of it

Bonus cover: She Said Yeah

- Flip the Switch ... one of their best songs, period, and the lyric defines their hedonistic hungers; the narrator even looks forward to death as an experience.
- All About You ... Jazzy type ballad, great backup vocals, one of many examples of Keith taking the band in a non-Stones direction.
- Connection ... probably would have been a classic if they had held onto it until Jimmy Miller arrived on the scene.
- Shattered ... summed up the '70s, still a staple on classic radio but overshadowed by Miss You at the time.
- Til the Next Goodbye ... Overshadowed by Angie.
- Street Fighting Man ... Yeah, it's a warhorse, but that opening is breathtaking.
- All Down the Line ... I kinda feel that with Exile the market was moving away from them; otherwise this would be a classic. There are several Exile songs in this category.
- It's All over Now ... shows what a great cover band they were and would always be.
- Undercover ... Like some other songs, didn't fit the Stones mold so perhaps unappreciated for that reason.
- Stop Breaking Down. ... Their best blues number.

I don't think any Stones song is underrated here on IORR. A lot of obscure ones getting a lot of love here. I can't think of a Stones song that I like that few people here like. Perhaps Cherry Oh Baby and Short And Curlies ... I don't know...
