Keith's resemblance in driftwood
Posted by: irishjohnnie ()
Date: July 16, 2017 07:07

I found this large piece of driftwood on the Illinois River in Peoria and I decided to display it in the mancave with a lot of other pieces I've collected. When I turned it to it's current orientation, the face of Keith became very apparent to me; similar to this drawing by Ronnie done in Paris during the "More Fast Numbers" sessions. Does anyone else see it???

Reminds me of the protean creature in John Carpenter's horror masterpiece "The Thing".

No Stones relation to me...

I can't see any resemblance but this thread reminded me a nice Argentinian movie called El Camino de San Diego (The Road to San Diego), which tells the story of a young man who finds a tree root which have to him a resemblance with Maradona's face.

I saw a cloud formation that looked like Mick Taylor (playing a Les Paul).
He looked pretty good, he had lost some weight.
I wish I had brought a camera with me...

My phone battery was charged and the camera working fine though the other day when I saw another cloud formation that looked like the members of the band America... but I didn't take a photo because I'm not a fan of theirs and I wouldn't post the photo here on iorr anyway.

I see it now. Like most of these kind of things, once you see it you can't un-see it, and you wonder why it is not the most obvious to everyone else.

What you have is known as eidetic vision -- that is, you see something that others can't see.

An old lady on the street once stopped me 25 years ago, to point out something she saw, in the snow on a tree branch. I couldn't see it, but she swore it was there.

What she was, was an artist but who didn't know she had the eye for it.

You should get an easel, some paint, and start bringing onto canvas that image you think you see, and then everyone else will see it too.

In my room, the paint is peeling on the ceiling. No one else would see it, but it could be aliens, or something!

I'm telling you, get some paint, do that stuff that you see, and then post it here.

Hope that helps.

Also known as pareidolia.
From Cambridge dictionary: "a situation in which someone sees a pattern or image of something that does not exist, for example a face in a cloud:
Religious pareidolia is when the eye sees religious images in objects such as tree trunks and grilled cheese sandwiches".
lol

*Or Jesus on a tortilla.

As an artist/painter myself, I study the intricacies of grilled cheese sandwiches and tortillas at least once a week. winking smiley

And it should be noted, the life longs benefits of taking hallucinogenics back in the day is also helpful. thumbs up
