Haven't Stones officials forbidden him to use their songs? MJ will not be amused.

That song was released in 1969, maybe the Stones don't owe the copyrights.

As political threads are not allowed, I trust that bv will close this one as well as
others before. And that's the reason why the original poster brings up a subject that
has been discussed here before (and was deleted): There is no way for a band to prevent
anyone using their music at public meetings in the US.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

I don't understand the logic for playing something titled "You can't always get what you want" at a political victory speech. As if Trump was trying to say, "Sorry world, but you'll have to bear with me".

I'm afraid we have to now.

why a Rolling Stones song?

why *this* song?

I seriously doubt the Stones would have ever agreed.

My guess is they only asked (=bribed) Allen Klein's daughter, if at all.

More directed at his opponent, I'm afraid.

Actually Stones have quite a lot of songs that might fit this particular context, but using YCAGWYW - assuming it was addressed to the disappointed ones - was a good idea.
