Well, understand the reasons. However the show seemed very short. I'm not
sure when the band started, but the show was finished around 10:35. Certainly the
shortest stones show I have witnessed. Does anyone know when the show began?

8.30pm - so 2hrs 5 mns........

The majority of the ABB Shows were shorter with 1hr 55mns.

My mistake as I was thinking the show started at 9pm. The show went by fast -
so I must have had fun!

So Mick only sings 15 songs and Keith sings 3 and still the conspiracy theory persists that the first show wasn't cancelled for Mick's illness. Interesting.

Indeed. The cancellation of first scheduled show on the 19th has nothing to do with ticket sales.

This Rambler was incredible - especially Mick on harp.

T-Mobile Arena will be home ice for a new NHL expansion team starting next season in 2017-18... No name yet as the owner wanted Black Knights as he is a US Army veteran, but the OHL London Knights team has rights in Canada over the Knights name, or so I have read... My bud here says name announcement may be next month.

As for the show, I thought they did a great job and showed what a band really is... Friends and partners working together toward a common sonic goal! Keith did 3 numbers to help carry the load, and Bernard and Sasha carried most of the choruses on their own it seemed. Mick sounded great though and the energy level was high for him too.

I personally believe I've never seen Mick do better on harp during Midnight Rambler as what I witnessed last night, looking forward to more opinions and the YT vids to confirm...

Would I have loved 2 shows as scheduled this week in Vegas? Hell yes! Mostly because I'm selfish, but also because I know so many folks from all over lost out with Mick being sick. I though his on-stage apology was sincere and it seemed from the crowd's reaction that most did as well.

Looking forward to Blue & Lonesome, Exhibitionism NYC and all the future holds for The Rolling Stones!

Yes Mick was great on harmonica and really exerted himself. He is the glue that keeps the RS together. The arena was full. All going by a periscope feed I saw. Charlie with his very erect back. He has lumbar (whatever) problems and was told this is best way to play plus he puts on a baseball jacket after concerts to warm down slowly. Yes Mick was impressive!

Spent the day out at the Valley of Fire yesterday which is absolutely stunning.
Only a one hour drive from the Strip, but seemingly a millions miles away from all the casinos, crowds, concrete, and chaos.
We've been there several times in the past, but it's always beautiful and changes depending on what time of year it is.
Temps were a pleasant 85F with clear blue skies, and it wasn't crowded which made it all the more pleasurable.

Valley of Fire

Made it back to Tropicana around 3:00 and started checking stubhub as I had a bit of interest in getting a pair of tix for my wife's birthday (it was either that or give her a large wad of cash to play at the blackjack tables).
I ended up doing both as I was able to get a pair of rear floor seats for a very reasonable $266 each.

We stopped by the Beerhaus on our way to arena at about 7:00 but it was still really crowded and didn't recognize anyone, so made our way into the arena. Bought a couple of $12.00 draft beers, and settled in at our seats with an empty seat on either side of us. Seemed like quite a few empty seats in the house initially, but eventually all filled up...wonder if they were giving them away?

It was a fine show last night. Mick did profusely apologize for Wednesday's cancellation early in the show, and then later made a joke out of it - "David Copperfield made me disappear" or something like that. He also joked alot about a new team name for the arena, but I didn't even know Vegas is getting a new team...is it the NBA? I've heard the Raiders may move out here, but that would be stadium. Vocally, he seemed semi-subdued throughout with less whoo-whoo-ing during Sympathy and the ending pf Brown Sugar's, "I said yeah, yeah, yeah, whooo!", but his physical command of the stage and catwalk was as good as ever - perhaps making up for his lack of vocal strength. I was pleased to here 'Lets spend the Night Together' - a tune that was not played at either Desert Trips. Ride 'Em on Down was nice enough, but lacked the punch of the Desert Trip take on it - maybe the element of surprise was gone, but it seemed a bit generic - nice harp from Mick though. People around us started chatting, and several took off for beer or bathroom. It didn't go down very well with the casuals. I was happy to hear Happy, but Ronnie was a bit heavy handed on the slide - where it's nice and delicate on studio version, last night it was a but sloppy and grumpy. Absolute highlight for me was Midnight Rambler, while my wife loved Gimme Shelter and the 'new singer' whom she hadn't seen before. Both of us loved You Can't Always Get What You Want -great choir, and it ended in a joyous stomp. Suddenly ending with Satisfaction, it was hard to believe they wittled down the setlist to just 18 songs, but who was I to complain. And considering Micks situation, I suppose understandable.

It's bittersweet to think this may be the last time (for me) of ever seeing the Stones again, but I've had tons of fun seeing them multiple times in a variety of venues since 1981 (stadiums, arenas, theaters, and clubs). I've seen them on average once a year for every year of my life, and the last few weeks with these three shows would be an appropriate bookend to it all. I doubt I'd pay to see them again in a stadium, and probably not again in an arena (unless the prices were right), and I certainly won't be making any long distance travel plans to see them. But when all is said and one, there's been far more good times than bad times, and they've provided me with memories and a soundtrack that will last forever. With all that said, never say never...looking forward to new blues album and whatever the future holds for the Stones.

Vegas has a NHL team that I think is starting to play next year. I can't remember the names being floated but they were pretty lame.

I rarely praise the latterday Stones. "Midnight Rambler" last night was the best I've seen or heard since 1973. Everyone had moments where they shined.

I notice Mick modifies the lyrics to "Ride 'em On Down" to "I got seven kids that look like mine" from Jimmy Reed's "three or four kids."

Equally stunning camera work by Michael Kaz. Amazing what you did with one camera! One of the best audience video's i have seen.

Ronnie's new guitar. It's a Danelectro '64 reissue.

Unfortunateley he could not finish the song with it because of problems with the wireless transmitter.

Cool! For which song did he use that one?

That conspiracy theory is bollocks.

The only conspiracy theory that I can believe is that they are unable to play any other songs on any tour. This setlist is without a doubt, predictably ridiculous. It must be engraved in a stone tablet. I've lost track of how long (or for how many tours) this has been going on.

The only creativity left in this band is the merchandising, and someone else is handling that. If they put as much effort into their selection of songs as they do with ticket prices and all the merchandise for sale, we just might have something to really get excited about. My heart is saddened and my mind is angered, but one thing is certain, this act is embarrassing. Good luck in Europe.

My good friend and former poster here Chris Epting (hbwriter) attended the show last night and was blown away by the band, and he has seen them quite a few times,l am sharing here his review of the show, very touching to say the least..
"You hear the choir start... "I saw her today at the reception..." and you realize you are wiping tears away. It just happens, you don't think about it. Certain words, notes and chords just release 40 some odd years of love and hope and faith and you realize they are just in your blood. It's hopeless. They've been with you for everything, thick and thin, your medicine and salvation; your reason to believe.

You tick off all the images in your memory; painted black, like a rainbow and everything in between. Like so many wild horses and tumbling dice, they cascade and erupt, over and over. It's hopeless. You are helpless. And even though it's only rock and roll, that's all it needs to be. That's all it takes to keep you happy.

'Til the next time that we say goodbye, I'll be thinking of you..."

My vote for new name is The Las Vegas Vegan Hookers

[Titter!]

grinning smiley I have always loved Mick's banter when he is in a good mood and talking and joking around and the way he will change up lyrics to songs. His sense of humor indicates what a genius he really is. His dry wit really strikes my funny bone.

I bet he would have made a great talk show host if he had not become the greatest band front man of all time. Some of his banter reminds of Johnny Carson, his one liners and giving that look... saying... did ya'll get the joke?

Thank YOU MICK!!!

Please come back around to these parts again.

That ^^^^ version of Rambler is why I still love The Rolling Stones, despite all the misgivings I have.

How many times have they played that song? Thousands I've no doubt, and yet how fresh, inspired, brilliantly shambolic, and yet totally rock n roll do they sound. That version is why I will never complain about their mistakes onstage.

They are still a truly great live band!

Listening to Ride Em On Down on youtube and it was way better than at Desert Trip, Mick sang it better and Ronnie delivered a great GREAT solo.

Also Keith's solo on SFTD was great, best I've heard in a long time.

I love how the band all of a sudden is compensating for Mick's current limitations.

The arena had lots of empty seats. I was in section 7 of the lower level and there were over 20 empty seats in my section. Luckily for me, the seat to my left and the two to my right were empty, so I had plenty of room to dance. It was a nice change from the pit at Desert Trip where we felt like sardines in a can during the Stones' performance.

I will say this: what a great crowd last night. No one once asked me to sit down because everyone in my section was up on their feet for the entire show with the exception of Slipping Away. The last several shows I've been to, I was up front, so it was nice being further back this time and getting the full view of the stage and the audience. It was a bit short, and Mick held back for the first half, but he sang beautifully on YCAGWYW. I liked the Desert Trip 2 set list better, but with the great crowd last night, I really enjoyed the show.

Yes, very HQ vid of MR and the others! Not sure what Ronnie was going for with that shredding/chainsaw bit starting about 10:25. It didn't play well for me in sec. 4.
Really missed the ballad, was hoping against hope for 'Worried About You' after seeing the vids of Mick killing it at Sao Paolo, Feb 24, 2016. Mick was not in good shape vocally yet.
Weirdly, my highlight was 'Slipping Away', with Keith actually singing (clearly and strongly) and playing solid through almost the entire number.
'T&A' was fun and sloppy, though it was followed by what felt like the longest version of 'Happy' I've witnessed (including X-Pensive Winos Beacon Theatre, 1993.)
Other thoughts: Terrible acoustics in our new T-Mobile Arena, with Kingdome level echo for a good 2/3 of the show.
$750+ (and much more for Platinum/Gold/Silver/Sapphire/Aluminum packages) for most of the house is beyond the pale. That the crowd wasn't more LA assholic was a miracle.
I was lucky to have 'guest services' move me down from $150 sec. 211 (the steep angle gives the London O2 a run for its money) to the wheelchair space in sec. 4. Place looked pretty full, but some spaces at the back of the lower bowl. AXS.com had tickets available till their 6PM cutoff. The prices on StubHub.com etc collapsed till showtime, last I saw was $275 for $750+ face. There most definitely was NOT the market for two outrageously priced destination shows here coming so closely after TWO major destination shows 200 miles away.
The cancellation of the first sellout (I couldn't get an affordable seat) after the second non-sellout show is inexplicable, inexcusable if you couldn't alter involved and expensive plans.
I love 'my band' more than is rational, but the effort is killing me...
