Nice article on Hank and his music. He was a bluesman when you think about it. He's not to everybody's liking, but man, the blues in in his voice.

Lurv the guy....Greatest voice of country music ...
He could go from hymns to honky tonk and leave ya stunned either way ...
They just don't make 'em like him no more ... collect everything ya can by him ... Ya won't regret it ..

PS: Get ya self a copy of Honky Tonk Blues DVD put tagether by Morgan
Neville with help from Hank expert Colin Escott .... WORTH IT just ta see Billie Jean
in the bonus section ... ONE TUFF BABE who'd make Poison Ivy look like Miranda Kerr ....

If ever in Montgomery Alabama, visit the Hank Williams museum, they have the car he died in there. Apparently it stayed in the family and his son even drove it through high school. And of course visit the grave site.

Yeah Dig Him. If you go to the root of it all, he's really what a songwriter was all about, as much as he wrote, have to say his influence can't be calculated up, if you really think about, he has to be right up there in putting Nashville on the map, meaning in songwriting lore.. Cool story for me, I actually just bought small lap steel from a guy that makes them, that was good friends with Don Helms, Hanks steel player on all the hits and beyond...

Love me some Hank. Hank3 is as close as anyone will ever get to Hank. Although I've never asked anyone, I bet a lot of people don't know he's from central Alabama and perhaps guess he's from Texas, Orklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky or Tennessee.

Chilling...

Alan Jackson: Midnight In Montgomery

Midnight in Montgomery,
Silver Eagle, Lonely Road,
I was on my way to Mobile,
For a big new year's eve show,
Stopped for just a minute,
To see a friend outside of town,
With my collar up, I found his name,
And felt the wind die down,
And a drunk man in a cowboy hat,
Took me by surprise,
Wearin' shiny boots, a nudie suit, and haunted, haunted eyes,
He said friend it's good to see you,
It's nice to know ya care,
Then the wind picked up and he was gone,
Was he ever really there?
'Cause it's midnight in Montgomery,
Just hear that wipperwill,
See the stars light up the purple sky,
Feel that lonesome chill,
'Cause when the wind is right,
You'll hear his song,
Smell whisky in the air,
Midnight in montgomery,
He's always singin' there,

David Allan Coe's "The Ride" is a similar song.

I'm definitely a fan of Hank Williams. I started listening to him about 1983. I currently listen to his 40 greatest hits album.

I am also a fan of Hank 3. Although not all of his stuff.

I never got into Hank Jr.

I'm a fan. I see Hank Williams as a bluesman. Great songs and great heartfelt singer. One of the greats.

there's nothing blues about Hank sr.he's the godfather of country and western music. just because someone sings about the trials and tribulations of life doesn't make it the blues, these same themes run through gospel and opera music as well, that doesn't make Pavarotti a blues singer.

country and western music had as much to do with the creation of rock and roll as the blues did,you can here it in any good rock and roll bands sound, and yes,Hank sr was the man.

A complete original. His face ought to be on the five dollar bill. Muddy Water's face ought to be on the twenty.

There will never be another like him. A superb lyricist. A great singer. He was steeped in blues, gospel, blue grass, and country and from all that he forged something never seen before.

Dare I say it, I like him better than the Stones!
