I don't see anything phony about Clapton's fish photo. I know from experience that I have been accused of showing phony fish pics myself; that the fish is closer to the camera than the person, thus making the fish look bigger than it actually is. In this case the head of the fish is closer than the body, and the fish itself is up to 2 feet closer to the camera. The camera is not all that far from the subjects, so in my estimation there is an optical illusion making the fish appear up to 33% larger that it really is.
Furthermore, I do not see any cropping lines or any other "lines". Clapton's feet are not in the photo because that is not how the picture was taken.
