I was also at this show, and honestly don't recall YGMR being played at all - some things are best left forgotten I suppose.

What??
I'm not a big fan of You Got Me Rockin' either...but their performance was on fire that night...and the moment when Jagger sang, "I was a pitcher.." and the screen showed a clip of the Angels winning their first World Series in that very stadium just six days earlier...well, it's an understatement to say that the whole place just exploded!
Unforgettable.

It’s really generic isn’t it? Probably would have made a half way decent KISS or Bon Jovi song but The Rolling Stones no way

Weird that I never really liked this song UNTIL I heard the 10:58 version from Voodoo Brew with Keith on lead vocals, Mick singing background, slow tempo, the song goes on and on and on... AND I LOVE IT!

Shocking to hear how much character and rock'n'roll those unfinished versions had and how it got far too polished and bland sounding in the end

My least favourite Stones track. Just one cliché too many, both musically and lyrics-wise. (* * 1/2)

You never put a sax, lead guitar - in front of the singer. Never. You think it´s cool because Mick is on fire here...that´s it. And as usual - everything not released is Waaay better than the original. Every B-side is better than what´s on the album. Right? Stones know shit - you know whats best. "Yeah, he should have a sax up his nose!"

It's not a bad track, high energy. It's the cringey lyrics that murder it for me.

With a track such as this, do lyrics matter? It’s got driving energy and a rollicking bite. I, generally, don’t listen to the Stones for lyrical greatness. Jagger isn’t Morrisey.

I loved it so much when it came out. This pounding drum, this primate beat, these pumping guitars. It was straight to the roots - not blues, but tribal energy, voodoo mystery, animalistic fire. Worked fantastic for Voodoo Lounge tour and it's vibe.
That said, it's a bit overplayed now. Especially recent live versions sound a bit uninspired.

One of my least favorite Stones song, never understood why it gets played live so much. Easy one for them to do live I guess. Doesn't seem to get the crowd going much.

Never liked this song. For me worst song on Voodoo Lounge, why they play it live, no idea.

The LP version is a bit... well, the version on NO SECURITY is quite listenable and much better, probably because it's a bit faster - and they play it good. Other than that, the album version, eh, it's nothing worth bothering with. It's not on any hits or favorites playlist of mine.

In a way, likewise.
Am I the only one, here, who views You Got Me Rocking as a 'live track' Perhaps it's because it's been as mainstay for so long, and I rarely listen to Voodoo Lounge, but I only ever 'hear it' in a live setting.
