Cristiano, do you know if that release also has the other tracks ... the additional ones i see on the super deluxe grrrr are:

1. Route 66 BBC Session
2. Cops And Robbers BBC Session
3. You Better Move On BBC Session
4. Mona BBC Session

I have them on my bootlegs, pretty good quality, I doubt they could be much better, but it is 'official' so I need to have it!

As far as I know, those are the only bonus tracks on some editions of Crossfire Hurricane.

Why haven't I bought this one yet? These are different shows.

"Bonus Features:
-Cinema trailer for Crossfire Hurricane / Interview with director Brett Morgen / Additional bonus performances:
-NME Poll Winners Concert 1964: (featuring Not Fade Away , I Just Wanna Make Love To You, I'm All Right)
-NME Poll Winners Concert 1965: (featuring Pain In My Heart, The Last Time)
Live In Germany 1965: (featuring (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, I'm All Right)
-The Arthur Haynes Show 1964: (featuring I Wanna Be Your Man, You Better Move On)".

A Great song, - sentimental . . . Yes ! -
but Cool, - and Jagger sings it, - so you actually believe him !

- For the completists :

Recorded and released in Mono, - but later released in Electronically Reprocessed Stereo, - mostly vinyl, -
and only one unique CD-release, - The Japan 1987 CD-release of
"Through The Past Darkly" - UK-tracklisting, -
which these days is pretty hard to find !

- All other CD-releases holds the US-tracks, which doesn´t include this song !

Maybe a little Arthur Alexander tribute..................

it's of a sloppy production...think the Stones version sounds more convincing..............

Beatle version sound more like a copy..............

Remake of You Better Move On?????

Looks like the Stones are influenced by Arthur

A Shot Of Rhythm & Blues
Not written by Arthur Alexander, but he recorded it before the Beatles and is the superior version imo.
Arthur Alexander - A shot of rhythm and blues (released 1961 USA, 1962 UK)

I heard the Beatles version first though when released on Live at the BBC in 1994 (They dabbled with it again in 1969 which is available on a bootleg).
The Beatles- A Shot of Rhythm and Blues (1963)

Before the Beatles though, and after Arthur, the tune was recorded by Johnny Kidd & the Pirates in 1962.
Johnny Kidd & The Pirates - A Shot Of Rhythm And Blues

And from 1963, from Gerry And The Pacemakers.
Gerry And The Pacemakers - A Shot of Rhythm And Blues

It's also been recorded by several others including Cilla Black, Clyde McPhatter, Flamin' Groovies Dave Edmunds, Suzi Quatro, and Van Morrison among others.

And a confession - after getting carried away researching this tune, I've realized it's not that great no matter who recorded it. smiling smiley

ha ha indeed. good notes there
I think Johnny Kidd got it from the merseybeat bands when he played at the Cavern for a week, I'm sure he admitted that himself. He had been pursuing a more r 'n' b path since at least late 1961, maybe earlier. He was quite a trailblazer as were his power trio back up group The Pirates.
The B-side of his version of Shot Of Rhythm and Blues is a very decent version of Bo Diddley's I Can Tell recorded at the end of summer 1962 before any of the next wave of r'n'b beat groups had record contracts.

Covers only make sense if they add something worthy or improve the original version. The stones always improve the original. Even Dylan's like a rolling stone (I open my umbrella dear Dylan fans...)
