The 2017 tour is not ready yet. Those who "sell" tickets i.e. claim to have tickets for sale are scalpers, touts, brokers who want your contact info for selling in the secondary market, with a profit added to the face value.

Don't forget that it was the Sun that announced that the Stones were going to play at Knebworth again in 2015.

Oh yes. Who can forget the all time classic thread that little yarn generated smiling smiley I think the Mirror got the story first and a load of other papers cribbed it.

I have updated the list of rumoured locations for the tour this summer:

[iorr.org]

Judging from all the rumours I get there is still a lot of activity in the booking phase. Some say they are confirming soon. The bids are pretty steep and the approvals are high up at the city council level, and involving many management people, so it is hard to keep these events very secret.

Netherlands : Most talk about Nijmegen but there is a major gig booked June 13 at Malieveld/Hague. So may be they are bidding against each others.

Italy: It might happen in Venice, Lucca or San Siro, it seems like Italy will get a gig.

France: Stade de France seems like a good rumour.

Dublin: Seens like a good rumour, a great and large stadium.

Germany: Munich is my best bet but so far too many other rumours as well here.

UK: I will assume they end up in UK but no rumours so far what venue.

In general, the bigger crowd the more chance they win the bid. Most venues I see on this tour rumours list are 60,000 up to 100,000 crowd sizes. If we are lucky then we get a special show too but don't count on it. Waldbühne was special still...

I stand corrected Mr Deltics smiling smiley And as is often the case with those 2 rags, the whole thing turned out to be a load of b0ll0cks anyway. If they're going for big venues on this tour then Knebworth has to be a good bet for this Summer as can hold well over 100,000.

Yes, I have heard rumour about D'Alessandro & Galli, Lucca-based big italian promoters trying to bring them "home" in Lucca. Logistics would eventually be an issue if they want to go big there. The "Lucca festival" site, a tree-surrounded square with a monument in the middle, inside the walls of the historical center might have fitted Neil Young and Bob Dylan lately and Bowie in the early '00 but sure won't be enough if a huge stones-crowd is wanted and expected.

On the other hand it might be the perfect set for an almost club-like gig. A dream that wont come true, I am afraid

Stones to Play Dublin in June

According to the Irish Mirror the Stones may play Croke Park in June. Croke Park are allowed three concerts a year and two slots have already been filled
with U2 and Coldplay.Lets hope the Stones are the third, which means a European
Tour???????

The list of rumoured places in Europe 2017 is here:

[iorr.org]

My comments here on this forum are by no means complete, I just make some brief comments about some cities etc. The above rumoured tour list is the main one.

Camp Nou Barcelona is the largest football stadium in Europe, and the third largest in the world vs capacity. There is no tour without a show in Spain. Last time Madrid and Santiago Bernabeu. So the Barcelona rumour is still valid.

That's if they can remove everyone that fell asleep in the stadium during the Coldplay concert.
