They didn't record a great song past 1981. They have done some good stuff surrounded by weak stuff and thats it. I don't listen to anything past 1981. I don't listen to very much music and when I do I search out the great stuff.

Almost Hear You Sigh and Love is Strong are truly of the standard we were accustomed to in the golden years as far as I'm concerned.

Always really liked Highwire - kind of a lost forgotten song. Thought Almost Hear You Sigh and Out Of Tears and Blinded By Rainbows were largely forgotten classic ballads as well.

Love Is Strong
Laugh, I Nearly Died
It Won't Take Long
Continental Drift

Are the only "classics" after Tattoo You IMO, but there are more strong songs and even more sub-standard stuff.

If I'm being totally honest, and in comparison to pre-'82...nothing is 'truly worthy of praise'.

yeah, there is a lot of good stuff post 1982. On it's own merit their catalogue, if you didn't have to compare it to the 60s and 70s stuff, which is largely bullet proof, you'd have the makings of a great band.

I think the later material suffers mostly because it's compared to the early stuff.

Some decent songs, few and far between. I can't think of anyone "truly worthy of praisal" though. But maybe I'm a bit mean?
