I think it's a rather odd choice for a candidate to pick Start me up. So the candidate
is waiting for the voters to start him to do something?
Did any candidate ever chose "Hold on, I'm coming"? I guess that would be my choice.

Start Me Up used at victory rallies, and now as I'm watching CNN, You Can't Always Get What You Want at another rally.
I know some artists would deny him the use of their music, or at least make a statement, but what is this?
And before the mods delete this, this is not meant to be political, just curious.

keefriff99You think that was an accident on Trump's part?Quote

CNN did a segment yesterday with the writer of The Sun, the Moon, and The Rolling Stones. This focused on how many times politicians use songs and don't realize what the lyrics are saying on the songs. Like Trump playing Brown Sugar before a press conference "the song is about slavery and heroine." Classic.
Whipping black women for sport is right up his constituents' alley.

seems your making a lot of assumptions ... is it possible Stones gave permission? Is it possible Stones support Trump? I have no idea, but it seems you are so sure of otherwise.

Trump's core constituency are boomers who have grown up listening to these songs.
We see these songs as works of art, to most of the public rock is just muzak -- something you hear at the grocery store or waiting at the dentist office.

this is so true-that is such a boomer thing, caring about what a song "means".
the post WW2 generation takes music way to seriously, the ones who came before and after couldn't give a toss.
does it have a good beat? can you dance to it?,great.the reverence and respect given to a bunch of stoned musicians is pretty laughable when you think about it.

The Stones's spokesperson already stated earlier in the campaign that they don't give Trump permission to use their songs.

If I recall correctly, what the Stones' spokesperson said was that Trump had not asked permission.
There was already a thread about this and I posted a couple of links that spelled out the legalities ... hang on ...

Can't they just give him "Winning Ugly" for free to use whenever he likes to settle this "affair"?

A little history lesson for you. Bob Dylan changed music and after him lyrics did matter.
