its interesting to see the stones and wanna hold you being compared with abba and how camp they are.
as a rolling stones fan and one who has been for 28 years i feel i can offer unbiased opinion, and not always go down the route of liking everything the stones did. which i find many do try to do on here.
to compare to abba is a joke.
wanna hold you is a desperate attempt at trying to find some power and melody and pass it off as a great stones song, it failed, something that abba seldom did was fail when it came to producing great studio songs, abba, camp or not, wouldnt produce stuff like wanna hold you. many of thier songs were far superior to a lot of stones songs.

The weirdest «rhyme» is on the St. Louis version I posted here. Keith clearly forgets the lyrics and sings:
«..if you have no choice
I'll be your lover, I'll be your boss...»
That's a pretty thin rhyme. It's hilarious, but a nice off the cuff-one just the same

I agree that's a nice ad-lib. I actually like "thin rhymes", like "Beast of burden" with "feet are hurting". I prefer those above obvious rhymes.
My favourite is "hey, conductor you must" with "let me off the bus" from Chuck Berry's Nadine.

Yeah, there is something about those rhymes that both make you smile, as well as fitting very good rhytmically.

The vinyl album does not have the "refuse" lines like the CD album.

extremely unambitious lyrics

Most of his stuff on subsequent Stones albums is just dreary.
