A part of my childhood, former Newcastle United shot-stopper, Pavel Srnicek, has sadly passed-away, after suffering a heart attack whilst jogging in the Czech Republic. His life-support has been switched-off.
He was a vital component of an incredibly exciting Newcastle United team in the mid-1990's: Andy Cole, Peter Beardly, and Pavel Srnicek. I followed Manchester United, but Keegan's Magpies played a big role in transforming a ten-year-old Big Al into a footballing-obsessed child.

Heartbroken about this, he gave me and thousands of other Newcastle United fans so many wonderful memories. May he rest in peace. PAVEL IS A GEORDIE.

I´m still surprised how he was big in Britain. Much bigger than here in Czech Republic. The same with Ludek Miklosko (West Ham United).
