Though Purple Mach II die-hard "periodically" since 1972, I havent
heard their version, played (e.g.) in Montreaux 1969 [

But...
Stones may be one of the toughest acts to cover;
imitations seem to be more sucessful. I believe its because
one of the ultimate strengths of the Stones is the performance.
TSOOL almost built a career on creating sonic atmospheres similar to the Stones in classic years ab 1967-1973, and eventually became rock vet´s themselves (now they are 'somewhere between VL & Bridges' or maybe 'post-Steel Wheels').
