Without any promotion i-tunes Germany released the ten Sticky Fingers live tracks from L.A., Fonda Theatre May 20 as a download-album yesterday. (Haven't checked i-tunes stores of other countries).

Downloaded right now... The sound is great and finally we have the show!!! Guess we will see a new BluRay or DVD of it in the autumn just like they did with Hyde Park two years ago.

I donwloaded it in The Netherlands its sounds fantastic.

This is what I'm talking about! What a great surprise, thank you Rolling Stones. Bought it and now burning it to CD now so I can hear it in the best possible way. Woo-hoo!

I'm definitely a Taylorite,but Ronnie was absolutely on fire on this gig.
The performance is so good, I'll happily double-dip if/when they release it again in other formats!

ha! i believe they said it was in the order of the original Sticky Fingers 8-track.


IORR............but I like it!

They would have to edit out all between songs banter to get org Sticky order! Otherwise: This ones called Dead Flowers - Wild Horses begins.
You can revamp the song order by yourself when you burn it!

A couple of initial thoughts:

1) Sister Morphine is absolutely brilliant, some of the best slide work I've ever heard from Ronnie. There's no point comparing it to the original because he and Ry Cooder are totally different players - the important thing is that it's unmistakably Wood playing, it's instantly recognisable as such. That sort of personality is what I and others have often felt was lacking in his playing with the Stones, so it's great to hear.
2) The stop-start weaving thing on CYHMK weirded me out when I first listened, but now I kind of like it.
3) Sway's still a bit of a mess.

It really great listning right now, and it sounds fantastic. Of course I hope we'll get the Whole show, but together with all the other great stuff, we all ready got, it's a great stones summer. Let let sun shine and be happy.

Sure but have you compared it to the (imo so-so) versions from 1997-98?

Anyway this release is a good news and it shows Jagger has finally gotten how you put out new music in the digital age (i.e. you drop it on the market without warning and you let buyers do the PR job for you).

really, it's f ing incredible
never NEVER even thought they could would release this, and so quick and just a couple of weeks after the release of deluxe sticky
it's a great news and of course the just "sticky" songs package make a lot of sense
but even if it does not..

anyway here on iorr it took 3 posts to have a lament..

yes, i understand and agree
as they've had not got my money for the double vinyl reissue of sticky with the deminished outtakes included

just, that deficiency, scarcity, lack etc was not my first thought or first word when I first looked at the news and content of the sticky release
