An immense cover version and one of the greatest songs on the Out Of Our Heads album.
For me That's How Strong My Love Is really gave notice that Mick could sing soul ballads as well as belting out the r'n'b and rock'n'roll that the Stones had become famous for.
Don't you just love it when he hits that falsetto on 'to keep you warm'. And then on the fade out, Mick pledging his love and testifyin' to great God almighty that his love is 2so strong, so strong, so strong". Go back and check it out for it really is one of his greatest ever vocal performances.
The other great performance on the cut is Brian Jones' organ playing which is nothing short of magnificent. So soulful and rolling gently like a backwoods river on a hot summer' day. If it was a colour it would be deep blue. It's straight out of a southern Baptist church.
Where did the guy get such a talent? He was really starting to peak at this point and I should imagine his influence loomed very large indeed over those Chess Studio sessions.
When they did in on the 2003 Licks Tour it was a heart-stopping moment, as if a time machine had suddenly transported the 60-year-old Mick back into his 22-year-old body. And yep, I agree with Nikkei - when he told the boys to 'take it down' and then 'take it down even quieter' it was goosebumps and cold chills all over for me.
If I was ever asked to try and distill the essence of the Stones then this song would definitely be one of the examples I'd give. It is part of the groups' DNA.

Now we're really talking. The Rolling Stones - the greatest rock'n'soul band in the world.

It makes me depressed just to think about wonderful songs like this. The current Stones are a caricature of their previous selves. This song, like vast majority of Solomon Burke's catalog, is glorious.

I can't see links, but here is (another?) link to 2003 Paris:

The band for me at this time (Licks 2003) are a joy for me to watch.
In this video, we have great shots of Charlie, drumming hard, looking real good.
And of course, MJ. Yep. I'll stop here, give this one a '10'
