I noticed that there's a lot of guitar players here in the forum. Just wondering what you guys had for guitars....

I have a 1981 Custom Gibson Les Paul - Tobacco Sunburst...play it through a Peavy tube amp.

I have

Epiphone Sheriton (pickups replaced with Kent Armstrongs)
Fender Tex Mex Custom Telecaster (black)
Plexiglass guitar (I think by Legend? - actually not a bad guitar and looks good)

I'd love a Les Paul but can't afford one now that I have kids!

Play through either Fender Bassman Head or Gibson Goldtone amp.

I also have Ukelele, banjo and acoustic guitars.

By all means ....
It would take two of us drummers to keep up with Charlie, right?

Maybe we should start our own thread for what kind of drums do you have?

Gibson Les Paul,Standard, sunburst 1972 reissue. For amp I use a Fender Twin Reverb with original '60s tecnology. "Wox" wah wah, and "Fulltone" distortion.
-In my opinion a good way to get the sound of rock'n rollsmiling smiley

I have:-

2 Telecasters (always in open G)
2 Yamaha acoustics (used in standard or open g or open e tunings)
1 Ibanez Blazer (standard tuning - not used hardly at all)

I play nearly all the Stones songs in open g on my Telecasters, including songs like Satisfaction and Under my Thumb which were never recorded in open g.....

Here are a few other songs and tunings I use:-

Imagination - open g Telecaster
YCAGWYW - open E acoustic (capo on eighth fret)
Sympathy - standard tuning acoustic
Wild Horses - open G acoustic (both top low strings tuned to g)
Paint it Black (acoustic standard tuning)

Regards,

Ian.

While I'm primarily a bassist and play a 1976 Rickenbacker 4001 I have several guitars. They are:

Yamaha Classical, FG 335, and FG 12-410
79 Gibson Les Paul
A Greco Spacey Sound (Strat Copy)
Fender Affinity Series Telecaster
Epiphone G-1275 Double Neck(This is a White one Like Steve Howe plays, although his is a Gibson)

Unfortunatly I don't get to play any of my electrics as much as I'd like to, since I'm the bass player in my band. We do 3 Stones songs (Brown Sugar, Miss You and Honky Tonk Women) and a Rickenbacker 4001's tone gives these tunes an unusual sound with all of its trebly high end.

I have a Takamine 6 string Acoustic with a pick-up to amplify and a Fender Strat, like the one Mick played in 1978 on tour. I also have a 12 string customized.

cheap Epiphone electric set up for open-E slide, Gibson Hummingbird acoustic,
sitar, 1985 Mesa Boogie Mark-III Simul-class, mid-70's Ampeg V-4, Fender Blues Deville (2 X 12), Vox PAthfinder (pretty good, actually), Vox Beatle head,
Vox Tone Bender, Vox Valve-tone, MXR Phase 100.

Japanese Fender Telecaster (~1990)
Yamaha FG-401 acoustic

I am thinking about getting a 5-string banjo, so I can play all open-G songs on it.

All my Guitars are tuned in open-g (what would you expect?)
I have:
1.)a Rockinger Telecaster with Seymore Duncan PUs from 1981 (mahogany Kit to build yourself)
2.) a Gibson Les Paul Special, Limited Edition from 1978, 2 Cutaways (2x P90 Soapbars)
3.) a black Hoyer Telecaster with Zebra Binding, that was a birtday present from our deceased Guitarist, Carlo Karges, who wrote 99 red balloons and played that Guitar in Tokio - with his former Band Nena.
So these are my 3 Guitars I'm proud of. The others aren't really worth mentioning - maybe for the record.
a red Chery Telecaster - looks like Ronnies ESP but sure don't sound like it.
a Starfield Telecaster
a self built Telecaster with Strat Tremolo
an acoustic Guit. by Santana
and loads of bits & pieces

@ Stikkyfinger
"Wild Horses - open G acoustic (both top low strings tuned to g) "
We do Wild Horses too and yes, thats my tuning.
