Nice post Dagger, that was quite a powerful showing by Mick. Couldn't help notice how much Charlie put into that tune too. peace

I don't think it's THAT bad myself, although it might be the single song where fans loudly have bashed Mick's vocals ever.

I just like the way he puts the sentimental thing in this song without exaggerating; it's just exactly how it should be. You know what it's about don't you? Very nice of him to share his feelings with his fans and it's interesting for us to hear what he thinks about it and how he cares.
Oh and I forgot the best one: (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction!

I always thought the cover of Just My Imagination was one of Mick's greatest performances. Evening Gown is great too

I think the whole band were re-generated on this one Naturalast. Perhaps it's because it's not a song they ever played too much but is so evocative of that whole magical 64/65 era when they were still beholden to their heroes, just like hundreds of groups would soon be to them.

SilverDagger, thank you for that one from Paris, 2003!
True, Naturalust, Charlie seems inspired as well as Mick.

To me, this is a good example of the questionable result's when Mick's affected vocal is just too obvious. His vowel treatment is strange. Loses the sweet magic of the recorded version. peace

Mick's Best Vocal Performances? I quite liked a few of his live versions of Blind Willie McTell, and I think some of the studio singing on A Stones Throw was stronger than past recordings.

Nobody mentioned it: The first track on "Rarities", the "Fancy Man Blues" is an exquisite vocal performance.

A very good latter-day performance:
