Great find stargroves2120.

This is just fantastic. What a great find!

In short:

The woman who was interviewed stayed with the band a couple of hours. She tried to go home, but was dragged in the car by Mick and Keith, while clinging on to a light post! Seemingly, she spent a lot of time with Keith that night, and described him as "very sweet. They were both sweet" winking smiley

The film guy said the Stones people came and said that photographies were prohibited, but he got away by saying he wasn't taking photographs!

The sound guy recorded the gig with (then) stellar equipment, and was approached by Mick who said he couldn't do that. He fooled Mick by un-socketing a different cable (did I get this right?).

He said the show was all shambles. No one kept the beat, and the singing was horrible (the recording proves him wrong, though).

It's so great to see Tell Me in this quality. WHERE IS THE ENTIRE RECORDING OF THIS???

thumbs up

Very nice!
What is the whole film about? And those youth riots after Stones footage, is that still related to the Stones? At least Ove Tingvall - who co-wrote a nice swedish Stones book I own but unfortunately can't read - is shown in that part.

Is it possible to get contact with the Stockholm taper? Any Swedish IORR-people who can be helpful?

It would be wonderful to hear the whole tape. The quality is really good and -more important- it could give us the first known good live recording of Tell me.

Alex.

As the title reveals, it's a historical documentary about the year 1965 in Sweden. The next one will be 1966 and so on. The "youth riots" shown after the Stones footage is not related to the concert.
Those "riots" were very innocent, by the way, by today's standards. But they were something new in the street scene then.

Maybe if someone contacted "Brandis" (Ove Tingvall), who to my knowledge still lives in Stockholm, he could get hold of the amateur film from the concert? I'm sure there is more to show.

If the color footage is from 1966, -from where and when? The Stones did not perform in Sweden in 1966?

He said the show was all shambles. No one kept the beat, and the singing was horrible (the recording proves him wrong, though).

They said:
Sven had his own sound company and was hired as sound guy at the concert. To also record the show was natural -- to him. "I had two JBL speakers and a tape recorder and I recorded this." [cuts to Stones on stage] "It was the most unorganized group I had seen. Jeez. When they started playing ... I mean ... not even that drummer kept the beat. Everybody were off beat, it was a clutter, it was terrible. And then when they [the audience] started screaming it was miserable. But I had to bear with it. Mick came down there and saw me recording and said 'oh, you can't do that'. And I said, 'oh, well then I'll take this out'. It was no discussion. [Unintelligible sentence not texted ... sounds like "we were allowed to stay" or something] It wasn't much to do. I had had more fun. [laughs]"

I know, I'm norwegian. I didn't have time to translate everything.

Just did it off the cuff - thanks smiling smiley

Is this the website of the guy mentioned above Ove Tingvall

Should it be possible to contact him for help to search for the audio of the 1965 show?

Alex.

Yes, it is. I can't answer the second question though. Maybe someone attributed to the website Stonesviking can help you there? Remember, Ove T doesn't own the material talked about.

Yes they did. The 1966 film i s easy to date. Mick got a black eye in Marseille, and covered it with sunglasses. Ove and me have discussed the tape, it´s an ongoing investigation so to speak..
